Yeah, I'm leaning towards the Allant+ 7. I'll have to see what's available. Bad time to buy one. Brother had a triple bypass a few years back. That's why he got an e-bike. Sister in law has one now also. I've watched him go up hills with ease that normally I could out ride him easy. I do fine...

I was doing a little measuring yesterday. I'll probably make me a ramp. I'll wait till I get a bike and see how it goes. Talked to Trek dealer yesterday. They are about the best dealer for e-bikes around here, about 45 miles from me. Limited stock and iffy on ordering most models in my size. I...

    2021 Allant+ 7 vrs 2021 Verve+ 3 Torque and Range

Was comparing the range on these two bikes with with the range estimator on the Trek site. If you set everything the same such as speed, tires, same battery pack etc. the Verve has a better range in miles. I understand why because the Verve has a 50nm motor vrs the 75nm on the Allant. My...

Some experiences over 15 years on a roadbike

Couple years ago I was cruising up a local street. Saw a pickup on side road waiting to pull out. He had to cross a railroad track just before the street I was on. Railroad guys were stopped pretty close to him. It's the local railyard where they sort and store railcars. I was on the main street...

Longtime rider here, 65 years old now. My legs aren't what they used to be. I'm looking at the Allant+ 7. I don't think I really need extra speed of the the S model but I noticed they don't offer the stagger frame on the the non S model. Is that correct? Also was wondering how much does the...

Giant Explore E+ 4 GTS vs Trek Allant+ 7 vs Specialized Turbo Vado 4.0

Most of my rides are 18 - 25 miles but once in a while I'll take the ferry and ride over in Illinois and go further. Depending on which route I go I can stay fairly flat or hit some dandy hills. If we haul our bikes to some of the rail to trail paths its all pretty flat and we usually end up...

Giant Explore E+ 4 GTS vs Trek Allant+ 7 vs Specialized Turbo Vado 4.0

I probably will start out with at least a 500wh system and experiment with the range till I know how far it will take me out and back. I have nothing against the Giant, I have 2 of them but it seems like they are going with the 400wh to try to push the extender battery. But it is a different...

New Member - Looking into switching from road bike to e-bike

Yeah, I knew the difference on the Trek bikes. S vs non S. If I went with the class 3 instead of the slower model would I be giving up much hill climbing torque? I'm not against the 28 mph capacity, just didn't think I needed it.

I was thinking the same thing. Why not have a port to keep your phone charged.

Highway 3? You over in Illinois? I'm over in Ste Genevieve. I've rode across river many times. Always stayed away from 3. Took the road down along river that goes by the prison into Chester. EDIT. Looks like your in Indiana. I wasn't paying attention to your name. The highway 3 I avoid is like...

Giant Explore E+ 4 GTS vs Trek Allant+ 7 vs Specialized Turbo Vado 4.0

I probably should have but I'm just not that far into my research and I hate to rush. Rode my old carbon fiber road bike today and survived.

I posted over in the help chosing an e-bike thread. Looking at bikes for mostly paved roads but also the occasional gravel road. 65 years old, 175 lbs. I'm more interested in how good it can climb a hill than I am speed. On my road bike I ride 15-20 miles quite a bit but anything longer is...

On my road bike I ride 15-20 miles quite a bit but anything longer is tougher on me now that I'm older. I want enough range for...

Hi from SE Missouri. Retired 3 years now. Turned 65 couple months ago. I'm no hard core rider but I ride a few hundred miles a year when weathers is nice. Been riding this for a long time now but my legs and knees just are not what they used to be. Couple family members have e-bikes now. They...
