Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Good morning from the USA. I've owned the Specialized Vado 4 SL and the Vado 4 (full power). Both of great e bikes, really well engineered. If I had to choose between the two, I would take the Vado 4. Why? Well....even though the Vado 4 is heavier, the 70 nm of torque make up for it. On...

Considering removing fenders on Trek 8s

Very nicely done.....Trek should take cue from your picture.

Considering removing fenders on Trek 8s

I always have a Topeak trunk bag on my bikes. This rack doesn't allow that, and I just can't get use to the look. I also own a Vado 4 and Giant Explore E+2....those both have their fenders intact. Thanks..... Trek missed the mark on this one, and if it had not been for the Purion display, I...

Considering removing fenders on Trek 8s

Thanks...I hate the rack, so all the better that it is gone too :)

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Today was my second longest ride on my ’22 Vado 4. I rode my normal 40 mile loop via the neighborhood and a long paved bike trail, with some rolling hills and steep grades. With a relatively mild wind (5 mph), I arrived back home with 53% battery left. This was all in ECO mode. I averaged 14.5...

Thanks for the response.....leaning towards having this done this week.

Considering removing fenders on Trek 8s

Has anyone removed the fenders from their Trek 8s or 9.9s? If so, were there any issues? I don't commute at all, and NEVER ride in the rain, so fenders are not necessary, and I hate the rear rack on this bike anyway. Thoughts?

    New Vado 4.0

I picked up my 2022 Specialized Vado 4 the other day, and was immediately stunned by the color. The red shown on the website does not do it justice. It is just a beautiful bike. I am not a fan of reflective (visible white line) stripping on the stock tires, so I had the LBS swap the stock tires...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I agree, for a total package, Specialized is HARD to beat. I love my Trek 8s with the Bosch Gen 4 motor.....but the Vado 4.0 and Vado 4.0 SL are complete packages. The Mission Control app is pure genius in my opinion...no offense to the Giant (I've owned 3) folks, as I loved the latest...

Very nicely done....thank you for the picture. Take care.

Trek 8s with Smartphone Hub and Cobi app

Has anyone figured out a way to mount a trunk bag on the 8s rack? I am going to ask the LBS if they have any suggestions....not a real fan of panniers, I don't commute enough to justify them.

Trek 8s with Smartphone Hub and Cobi app

I agree....for such a nice bike, the display offered is a huge let down. Maybe for some it is not a big deal, but every time I would get on the bike, and have to place a second phone in there (I refuse to put my daily Samsung on that bracket), just feels odd. I power on my Specialized Vado or...

Trek 8s with Smartphone Hub and Cobi app

I did...was the only option at the time. Take the refund on a Giant Fastroad EX Pro....or try the Trek.

Trek 8s with Smartphone Hub and Cobi app

For the past 3 months using the Cobi app with the Smartphone Hub has left me very unsatisfied. After owning Giant e-bikes and Specialized, I think Trek and Bosch missed the boat when it comes to this display. First of all, when I get on my bike and go for a ride, I should NOT have to add a phone...

    Giant powering off repeteadly

Sorry to hear about your woes. I use to own a Giant FastRoad EX Pro 2021 model year. I Purchased it back in February of 2022. For the initial 300 miles, it was great….torque was awesome, smooth ride, and my first 650b wheelset. Yet at around 300 miles or so the bike starting shutting off without...

Hooray for New Bike Day: Vado 4.0 2022

Understood....my legs (59) are rapidly approaching 60....and I can tell you, more torque is better, especially for hills. In my experience, even in turbo mode, the SL could barely get up a steep hill on my normal 60 mile ride loop. Every bike I've owned gets tested on that loop, and the more...

Hooray for New Bike Day: Vado 4.0 2022

Greetings….first off, they are both great bikes and products. The only advantage of having the SL would be if you live in an apartment and need to carry it up stairs. The SL really is light, nimble, and relatively fast on the flats. For my riding still, which is mostly paved bike trails and...
