    Yamaha Urban Rush Reviews

Hi! Mods are: 38mm Gravelking tires, Ritchey Venturemax shallow drops, Redshift stem and seat post, fenders + rack, Speedbox to make it Class 3+. Curiously, the UR and Civante come with 35mm tires while the Wabash comes with 33mm tires. I originally wanted the 1x Wabash but found the UR in my...

Advice needed: Eggrider vs. mid drive motor?

It's a double-sided kickstand, much like the ones cargo bikes use. It can lift the entire rear wheel off the ground. I've no idea if it interferes with the pedal rotation. But I'd honestly take that over the single rear-mounted one I have on my bike.

Advice needed: Eggrider vs. mid drive motor?

I've been recommending this a lot because it's such a good value w/ so many practical uses, but check out the CTY e2.2. Shimano middrive w/ 60Nm of torque, rear rack that can take 59 pounds, front suspension, hydro brakes, integrated lights and one of the largest and best dealership experiences...

    Tuning Class 3 Civante

Yes. It's unlimited assist now. I usually don’t ride very fast but I've gotten it to ~38MPH on a very slight downhill and could still feel motor assist. I don't have much flatland around me so the SpeedBox is really only useful to me about 15% of my commute but I'm moving to a slightly less...

    Tuning Class 3 Civante

I can confirm that SpeedBox 2.0 for Urban Rush works with my...Urban Rush. So if you want to "downgrade" to a UR to get unlocked assist speeds, that's an option. And your spare battery and other upgrades will transfer right over.

HELP!! Derestricting the 2019/20 Yamaha Crosscore.

Some of the tuners are very specific to the combination of display + motor. Even then, there’s firmware differences between models so that adds another complication. It took a year for SpeedBox to offer an Urban Rush specific tuner after I reported that SpeedBox 2.0 didn’t work for my application.

Road biker looking for a fun ebike for around town

CTY e2.2 checks almost all your boxes. I believe there’s a tuner for this system to unlock unlimited assist speed. And REI is a huge LBS that has excellent support if needed.

Took the kids out to our usual spot on the coast. Nice and clean air until the wildfire smoke comes back.

Redshift Arclight automatic multi mode lights

It’s on Kickstarter now. I really do like the idea but the actual pedal is very commuter and isn’t as aggressive as I’d like. I love having replaceable pins for mixed use riding.

Redshift Arclight automatic multi mode lights

Saw this in an email a few days ago. It’s looking really good for those of us that commute or often ride in the dark.

    HipLok AirLok

Looks to be a very niche product. What are your uses for it? Is this for use in a shared residence or a parking area that the public can access?

Is there an eyelet for a rear rack

Yup. Have to drop the motor to get to the wiring harness. It’s not that difficult with the correct tools but it’s time consuming to do it correctly. You can see how it’s done in this video for a SpeedBox install. I had to loosen the chainrings on my Urban Rush, too.

Is there an eyelet for a rear rack

That’s correct. Most racks I’ve installed come with a few lengths of bolts. Sometimes they work, sometimes you have to go to the hardware store to get the one that fits best.

How many gears do you really need & use?

I immediately looked for your location. I think you’re in the Bay Area, too? I like big range just like you do. I use all the gearing on my bike. Luckily I have a 50/34 chainring mated to an 11/32 cassette.

Papa and daughter time! Unfortunately there’s so many wildfires burning north of us but the breeze and fog on the coast is keeping our air clean enough for our rides.
