Specialized Vado 5.0 IGH Cadence Survey

I have to add a little caveat here. Everyone seems to be hypnotized by IGH HUBS with belt drive. IMHO for single speed, fixed gear, or IGH a belt drive has a couple of advantages vs a chain: lighter, quieter, no grease. The chain drive system on the other had has some real and substantial...

    Online E-Bikes - is it a scam?

Lectric bikes may make great products, and have stellar support, but unfortunately for me, none of the models shown on their website are of any interest to me. I am interested in an electric assisted bicycle, not an electric moped with pedals. No disrespect there at all, there is a niche in...

    Roadster V2 Gravel Edition

I am a bit confused here. It has a pedelec mode (which is what I am looking for) and a throttle mode (which I do not want!)?

    Online E-Bikes - is it a scam?

If I am not mistaken, the Lemond e-bikes are made in the USA, the carbon frames are actually manufactured in Ky I believe. They are pricey but they are also unreal light!

    Roadster V2 Gravel Edition

Does anyone know if the current production models of the V2 Roadster gravel edition is a pedelec or does it have a throttle? If it’s a pedelec does it use a torque sensor or cadence sensor?

    Tilting/leaning trikes

Maybe I missed it, but I haven’t seen any mention of the Arcimoto mean lean machine. Not in production yet, but they are producing and selling their other models and I think the MLM will make it into production. Arcimoto is based in Eugene Oregon https://www.arcimoto.com/mlm

Turbo Vado 4.0 questions: range and reliability

So far, riding my Turbo Vado 4.0 around Medellin I find that I average about 1 km per 1 % Battery drain. Medellin is a big valley and the floor sits just above 5000’. The valley floor slopes, so most of the time I am either gently descending or gently ascending. I live on the hillside on the...

Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 vs Turbo Vado SL 5.0 EQ

I have a Turbo Vado 4.0. It was the finest ebike I could find in Colombia. I am not interested in an e mtb, and the Turbo Vado seemed perfect. but a a bicyclist moving over to ebikes, I was not aware of how much bigger and heavier the Turbo Vado would be. With its suspensión fork and 2.3”...

Specialized Vado Turbo SL 5.0 EQ - please help confirm my choice!

I live in Medellin Colombia. Its a fabulous place to ride a bike or ebike. As a 73 year old I decided that the 20% grades so common around here are much better done on an ebike. The problem is that the only quality ebike brand I have found available in Colombia is Specialized. And they dont...

    Modifications?

The Vado 5.0 is not available in Colombia, nor is the Vado 5.0 SL. I purchased the last 2023 turbo vado 4.0 size large that was in Specialized Colombia’s inventory. Understand that choices are severely limited here. Most ebike brands simply arent sold here

    Modifications?

Just curious about 2 things. 1. has anyone replaced the front suspension fork with a rigid fork, carbon maybe? 2. Has anyone replaced the stock tires with a much lighter set of semi slick tires, for instance Rene Herse Switchback Hill 640b X 48 endurance casing?
