Consider helping a University student by taking a quick survey about E-bikes!

I tried to stay committed to it, but it was pretty long so bailed. Overall, Pedego is a fine brand and great warranty. You could do a whole lot worse than them that's for sure. I looked at them initially, but their prices at the time were quite a bit higher (probably paying for that warranty some!)

Is there a bike lock that is clearly better

I locked up today at the grocery store and the bike rack was by the smokers spot. I told one of the smokers thanks for watching my bike and they laughed and said anytime. Always helps to have more eyes on the bike!

Great sale going on now at Evelo

cool thanks! i will definitely add that to my watch list. i would like to get a little more exercise than im getting currently and thnk the torque sensing mid-drive would allow that compared to my current hub cadence sensor. darn thing just keeps going though. battery is showing a little decline...

Great sale going on now at Evelo

Cool thanks for the reply, it’s definitely piqued my interest and may try and find one around here for a test ride! Amazing what you can get for 2 to 3k now, two years ago that was a pretty entry level bike price!

Great sale going on now at Evelo

Wow that’s a great looking bike at a great price. Anyone have one want to explain how the auto shifting works and feels? Do you just keep pedaling and it shifts or do you have to back off a bit when needing a shift? That looks pretty cool. Good for them offering a four year warranty! That’s...

Is there a bike lock that is clearly better

most of the time i will just bring my bike into the place if i can, most places have a nice spot inside the door, or sometimes if we're in pairs, one of us stays by bikes (coffee shop for example). ive also had good luck asking the customer service rep at the grocery store if i can park the bike...

Recreational rider's first 100 miles on the Zen Photon – a detailed review

Thanks for taking the time to write the review, it’s definitely the bike on the top of my list for my next ebike. Glad to hear you like it! My bike is two years old with 2200 miles and keeps plugging along but since im a commuter I may buy a new bike just because I want to and since I save so...

Yet another "Careful of DOST Bikes" warning

wow thats not good at all, i suspect they won't be in business much longer if there are some underlying issues taking place. i had honestly never heard of them but the website looks pretty impressive. sorry to hear you had such a poor experience!

New Lectric ebike coming? Anyone know or want to guess?

nice looking, i could definitely pick one of those up for winter snow riding and light trail riding, my current commuter bike doesn't go off the road so i could see where this bike could be more of an all purpose all-season bike!

Bike tires? Puncture proof? Skid proof?

I got lots of flat's while riding on dirt trails in the desert. I've been lucky and almost none on the roads. I did get the Tannus Armour inserts for $100 or so and have found they give great peace of mind. I'm 2 years in on them and no flats. They definitely add a little weight and a little...

New Lectric ebike coming? Anyone know or want to guess?

I would guess something with bigger tires. I rode my brothers new lectric and loved it but the smaller tires were a little rough to adjust too. Whatever it is, I’m sure it will be well done. I was very impressed with the bike I rode and my brother loves it!

    Right of way question

The couple times that has happened to me I've just slowed way down to almost a stop because I generally assume the other rider doesn't know what they are doing if they are going against traffic. Depending on how heavy or light the traffic is I would be open to moving a little left into traffic...

Do You Wear a Wristwatch When You Ride?

No watch for me, don’t use a smart phone either, we live a pretty monastic life when it comes to tech. Had a smartphone in 2007 and 2008 and didn’t really care for it and turned it in. (It was a blackberry with a scroll ball and no real images, mainly just basic text websites) Was on Facebook in...

    Chicago Lakefront Trail?

I rode it a few months ago while at a work conference and it was very nice. All sorts of bikes and everyone was respectful. High speed triathletes training and people cruising as slow as possible. Path is wide enough for all and loved that walkers and joggers were separate from bikes. I had a...

Poll - Did you upgrade from Cadence Sensing to Torque Sensing?

Didn’t even know what a torque or cadence sensor was when I bought my ebike so have a cadence sensor and gets the job done. I do plan to get torque sensing because I don’t feel in getting a good enough workout now because if I go lower assist I’m kind of fighting the bike and it’s real unnatural...

"Best advice for new ebike riders" from us

I do something similar, I keep a charger at desk and at home and completely got rid of range anxiety. At two years I have noticed my battery start to lose some range but don’t mind charging a little more often.

Do you support the US federal E-BIKE act?

interesting idea, i know when i ran the numbers on getting an ebike over a car it was a no-brainer without any credits or rebates. i think the payback was less than 6 months. the biggest benefit to me more than the $ is the fresh air and mental reset. i just really don't like to drive a car. i...

questions to people that are commuting

That’s a lot of miles, good for you! I had to replace chain and cassette at 2000 miles per the bike shop. Tires look to be due in another 1000 miles or so. Just did rear brake and front brake may need replaced in the next year or two.
