[UN-RESOLVED, Again!] Specialized "Rider - I Don't Care" Support is non-existent, what is YOUR experience? (poll) (NEW SYSTEM IN PLACE 4-21-22)

If thats what Specialized wants to do, obviously they can but what im speaking to is the issue for the purchaser of direct to consumer Specialized bikes and also the LBS's that dont stock Specialized bikes anymore due to Specialized restrictions, but still having to troubleshoot and service...

[UN-RESOLVED, Again!] Specialized "Rider - I Don't Care" Support is non-existent, what is YOUR experience? (poll) (NEW SYSTEM IN PLACE 4-21-22)

The LBS's I spoke with said they can no longer get bikes from Specialized, which means less familarity with them overall eventually. One became a Trek store, and the other is trying to i guess figure it all out, but had to fumbled along when building and configuring my IGH because they werent...

Brought a new Vado 5.0 home today!

I have the same mirror and I like it, despite it not being super useful. I think it wobbles too much or something..

[UN-RESOLVED, Again!] Specialized "Rider - I Don't Care" Support is non-existent, what is YOUR experience? (poll) (NEW SYSTEM IN PLACE 4-21-22)

Specialized created this situation though by cutting out the LBS's to claim more of the pie for themselves. Seems like a weird decision with a product that requires expertise for building and troubleshooting such as electric bikes, and if they were going to move to this model.. access to support...

I havent had to contact Ridecare to report any issues, just had a few questions about a prospective purchase and they dont answer repeated emails or phone calls. My experience with Trek is that they are very helpful and available. Their bikes just unfortunately arent as good.

New Vado 5.0 IGH, 1st ride, and my experience

Very welcome; the Vado IGH is more refined and more efficient than any of the CX bikes imo. It's not a gulf in terms of climbing ability but the overall of the bike is a nice package.. probably the best out; But.. they are heavy machines and it's unlikely they would make for great fitness/pedal...

New Vado 5.0 IGH, 1st ride, and my experience

I have on an Allant 8+ and there's no comparison. They're close in nm but the Vado IGH feels like a different generation of ebike. Faster, quicker and feels lighter on its feet even as a heavier machine.

Considering upgrading my Allant+ 8s to a Specialized Vado 5.0 IGH

Mike nailed this.. In the Specialized forum, were seeing this to be somewhat of an issue. I actually went from a Trek 8+(CX motor unlocked) to the 5.0 IGH and its a FAR better bike imo.. I rode the Allant again a few days after getting the 5.0 and it just feels twice as slow, heavy etc.. even...

[RESOLVED] (refunded) New Vado 5.0 IGH in the shop, errors galore---updated 4-13-22

You nailed this and its the reason I'm thinking about swapping out the IGH for a different bike. The frequent spin-out in particular just doesn't feel natural when moving around at a normal, non-aggressive pace on the bike.. I pretty much keep it in the "slowest" setting and increase the cadence...

Vado 5 IGH problems on steep hill

^ I think there's a learning curve due to the IGH. It has limited settings and gearing, so you have to make sure you toy with the power settings (too much turbo on a hill probably isnt a good idea). The Enviolo may also need to be calibrated? My LBS had no idea what to do in the settings...

Vado 5 IGH problems on steep hill

From what I've noticed, this is likely the issue.. the IGH in the lowest gear, you have to pedal HARD to get the gearing to tighten up and bite like you can with the low gear on a standard derailleur.. and the second you let off of the pedals, the gears lose their grip and will loosen right up...

    Vado SL 5.0 -- It's Here!

This makes sense, I thought I read that the Levo and Vado SL's were around the same weight but the suspension being heavier is logical

    Vado SL 5.0 -- It's Here!

No its really light but if they made a model for some minor offroading, having a suspension fork would be nice; but right now the SL is a really good fitness bike as is
