In Specialized motors, we set the percentage of maximum assist (for instance, 40% of 4x) and the percentage of the maximum motor power (for instance, a cap of 40% of 565 W). I'm not sure it is the same for X20 of TQ HPR?

Komoot: EXPERT Gravel Ride :) I had to do slightly unusual shopping yesterday, so planned (just for fun) a "gravel route" in Komoot. This is what Komoot told me: Ah, an expert gravel ride :D Let's see. First, I passed the site described here: The Mysterious Case of The Tank of Pruszków A...

The Mysterious Case of The Tank from Pruszków In 2011, there was stagnation in the scrap metal market in Poland. One Jose Mariusz Olejnik (JMO), a co-owner of the Junkyard in Pruszków bought a T-55 tank from a collector and put the vehicle in the front of his yard. That combined with active...

Lovely, Chris! I shared the video to my FB with these words: "JA PIERDZIELĘ (the shout of the utmost awe!) You must see it! My mad English mate Cartridge rides the dunes during the Storm Floris! P.S. He's not stupid at all. He wore motorcycle goggles!" :)

I understand Specialized motors very well, especially as Specialized gives the peak power for each motor together with the marketing torque value. It is clear that Specialized uses 60 rpm as the reference (Yamaha does the same). Therefore, the listed torque values for SL motors are fair enough...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

The issue with the hub-drive motor is we don't know the reference angular speed. As @mschwett was explaining, the X20 motor has a good torque when it spins fast, that is, on the flat. The steeper the climb is and the slower you ride, the slower the hub-drive motor spins, losing its torque...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

The basic formula for torque in rotating systems is T = P / omega where, T = torque [Nm] P = power [W] omega = angular speed [radian/s] Forget the 250 W. We are only talking the motor mechanical peak power. The only thing that matters is the max motor power. Torque is a marketing gimmick to...

Welcome @cyclingwilly! Your choice of a Cube gravel e-bike is good! Awaiting your reports when you have got the Nuroad!

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

Calcoaster, something is either strange or... it is a marketing hype. The older Specialized SL 1.1 motor is providing 240 W peak mechanical power, which is 35 Nm at the reference angular speed of 6.28 rad/s (60 rpm). TQ HPR 40 is therefore weaker than the SL 1.1, and it has the torque of 31.8 Nm...

While @stompandgo is a fine and nice guy, we have known @mschwett from his best side for several years now. Mark in an accomplished road cyclist who has owned many analog bikes and e-bikes, and was always approaching cycling from the engineering and scientific side; he was not interested in how...

As I have to ride "Mazovian Engraver" :) (Mazovian everything but gravel) often, I'm used to riding sand. While a proper e-MTB on 2.6" tyres just cuts through the sand as if a knife cuts butter*, I nowadays have to do with 700x42 mm and 700 x 47 mm Specialized Rhombus Pro. Riding the sand is...

Best cargo bags (panniers?) for groceries?

These bags are not panniers in any sense. Not sure how thieves work but it is very easy to remove a pannier without your permission. You might want a MIK compatible trunk bag. Please do your own research (I do not own a MIK rear rack so cannot help you).

Paweł Jońca video of the Korboloza 3: Land of Nur group ride It is almost without any words, so no issue for an English speaker to watch it, and it is short enough. When Paweł rode closely to a herd of cows, he made one of the beasts scared, so he shouted: "SORRY!" to which the shepherd...
