Supernova M99 lights with Bafang ultra

These lights are specifically designed for Euro "S-Pedelec" e-bikes with specific motors. They are compatible with Bosch "Speed" motors, Gen 2 to Gen 4. If you want to install them, it will require a lot of thinking. Is Pushkar gone for good?

    n00bie from New Jersey

Add a Garmin Edge and connect it to the Trance wirelessly via ANT+. An ultimate display. I specifically say "Garmin" as I know it is fully compatible with Giant e-bikes.

    n00bie from New Jersey

@KF2M: I looked at the picture first. A familiar shape of the downtube... 'It must be a Giant!' then I looked at the shocks and the damper... 'A Trance?' Only then I read your introductory text :) Welcome to the Forums! I also invite you to the 2025 - Our Rides thread!

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Jeremy, Bleeding the hydraulic lines in the brake system you have is a rare thing (I'm with Rás on that). The brake pads do wear in hilly terrain, no doubt. Not sure what your brake pads are but I would go with semi-metallic ones were I you. The only con of semi-metallic pads they can be squeaky...

Bosch Smart System Mysteries Explained Once And For Good!

I own no Bosch e-bike so I trust your observation. I tried AUTO mode on (formerly) mine Giant Trance E+ with a Yamaha motor: the assistance was unequal and unnatural but the mode was a real battery guzzler! As a Specialized rider, I trust fixed assistance modes, which are not only stable but...

He's an artist :) We call such people "moving with their head in the clouds" :) Paweł is getting easily distracted when thinking of making a next video shot.

Charlie, nobody in the industry gives a s*it on standardisation. Does your own e-bike provide the information you need?

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

You have all necessary information on the display or in the App of a proprietary system such as Bosch, Specialized or TQ. The point is, there is no standard. LEV ANT+ gives me all the information I need during the ride, especially on my Vado SL that even doesn't have a proper display. By...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

The only widely accepted standard is ANT+ with the LEV extension. The implementation of ANT+ for a given e-bike system solely depends on good will of the e-bike system manufacturer. For instance, Wahoo has no issue to recognize both Main and Range Extender batteries while Giant/Yamaha battery is...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

ANT+ is what it is: Not only the protocols (while quite extensive) are limited. It also requires a good will of the e-bike system manufacturers and the bike GPS computer makers to use the full strength of ANT+, and that's not happening. You still get a lot of useful information obtained from...

Where do you keep your bike?

My two e-bikes live together with me in my small apartment :) Ready to ride anytime. No worries about the winter :)

Get yourself a Pinarello Nytro E5 Allroad with TQ HPR 50, same as @stompandgo has bought :) Only not sure what your CFO would say :)

The LEV ANT+ protocol has no Motor Power included :) Source: https://www.thisisant.com/developer/ant-plus/device-profiles#527_tab Interestingly, the protocol does not mention the Rider's Power but that is the part of another ANT+ protocol (the one dealing with Power Sensors).

Thank you, Chris! It looks TQ HPR transmits all necessary parameters to Garmin Edge. (No Range but it is the least worry). I can see Garmin cannot pick up the Travel Mode name (like ECO, etc) but displays the assistance mode as a set of bars (fine!) Garmin has never been capable of detecting the...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

Yako, thank you for a very informative review! How well does TQ HPR 40 integrate with LEV ANT+? (Wahoo, Garmin). What e-bike parameters can you get on a bike GPS computer? Does HPR 40 report LEV Battery %, Main/Range Extender? Cadence and Power? Range? Travel Mode name?

With a 3 litre bladder, you can ride for the whole day and never need to replenish water. The mouthpiece is close to your mouth, and the tube is magnetically held on a backpack strap. The hydration pack is made the way it never touches your body (only mesh parts do). The pack has a ventilation...
