    cross current s question(s)

Yeah that ought to work. The stock chain is probably plenty long enough to handle it as well. Many people have shortened the stock chains due to slack and chain drops. It would definitely give you a nice low first gear.

    cross current s question(s)

That is an 11 spd cassette. The CCS comes as a 9 spd setup. There are several members on this forum who have converted to 10spd derailleurs/ shifters/ cassettes. This has primarily been for the advantage of a clutched rear deraileur to reduce chain drop. @Reid did a nice write up of his...

    cross current s question(s)

There is a hill that I occasionally ride on my commute that peaks at 16% grade, I ride this at ~10-11 mph on my CCS, I can't carry speed into this climb as there is a 4 way stop at the bottom, (it was 5-6 mph on my road bike). I am pedaling hard in first gear on this hill. It probably 500 yards...

    cross current s question(s)

That my friend is a great question. If anyone knows the answer, I'd love to hear it!!!! If that works as a "plug and play" solution for more speed, I'll jump on it once my warranty is up. I can tell you from my experience, there is more speed to be had from the CCS without much tinkering. If I...

    cross current s question(s)

Short answer is yes the 52V gives you more power and higher top speed. I have a 52V battery that I routinely charge to 80% which is 55.4V or about the same as a 48V pack at 100% charge. Performance is fine this way. I have only fully charged my battery to 100% or 58.8V twice (I have done 90% on...

New Cross Current S - Gear Skipping

So this is a pic of a half separated link for an example. A partially separated is similar but the links are still lined up with the pins and still partially in the pin hole. (This chain is obviously horribly maintainted. Not my bike, google pic)

    New Juiced Hyper Fat: HF1100 40 mph, Sept 2018 $3,299 Pre-Order

While I agree about the use of class 3 bikes or above on trails, higher speeds on the roads in traffic, have some significant advantages. My whole commute is on roads in traffic (most of it in designated bike lane), but I truly feel safer at 30 mph in traffic on the ebike than 20 on my road...

Tora Harris, Founder: Juiced is Developing a Folding Bike

I already have the 52V 21Ah battery. But I am not sure the controller is the only limitation. If I am pedaling downhill, the bike stops assisting above a given mph limit that is clearly tied to the available voltage in the battery at the time. I have only fully charged my battery to its 58.8 V...

CCS Tire Upgrade: Schwalbe, Conti, Maxxis...

Interesting. What pressure are you running your tires at? I'm still on my original stock Kenda's at > 2600 miles. Rear tire looks like it'll be good for at least 4-5K, front should go well over 10K miles based on current wear. I did convert to tubeless, but I don't see that having a significant...

Watts being used vs. PAS level

So here's my 2 cents (poor man's theory;)). There seems to be an algorhythm in the controller that I think is designed to avoid overloading the motor at low speed. This only shows up in higher assist levels, so level 2 or higher. You can demonstrate this to yourself by accelerating in S mode...

Tora Harris, Founder: Juiced is Developing a Folding Bike

I do find it uncomfortable to ride with a very slow cadence. I don't have a cadence meter on any of my bikes, but based on my experience on the spin bike in the gym, I generally like to keep my cadence between 80-110 RPM. I do know I am able to pedal my CCS over 40 mph on downhills and feel...

New Cross Current S - Gear Skipping

So 2 things to do to reduce fender rattle. First make sure the mounting stays are attached to the fender all the way at the bottom up against the mud flap. Second bend each stay outward slightly to provide constant tension on the stay. Then as you tighten the stay to the fork you can turn the...

Tora Harris, Founder: Juiced is Developing a Folding Bike

So my big question for @Tora Harris would be; Do you have any plans to offer a motor upgrade like the MAC motor in the Hyper Scrambler for your other bikes (especially the CCS)????? Honestly, this is about the only thing I'd like to change about my CCS. Having the top speed limited by the...

    Knocking Freehub and Cassette Removal?

Freehubs are pretty cheap. If nothing else it would rule that out at minimal cost.

Three months with CCS: Good and Bad

Not sure you hit a nerve as much as you got a response from a satisfied owner who is a big proponent of his bike; and wanted to add some perspective over someone who doesn't own one. Being realistic about things is useful. Simply put every bike maker is going to have some issues with their...

Report of my first 4000 miles on a CCS (also my first 5 months of owning it)

Also, FWIW, I have read some mixed reviews on the Marathons, esp related to wet traction. I am planning on these Continentals as my replacements when the time comes. I plan on using the 700/ 47mm width. They have the same puncture resistant layer, Class 3 ebike rated, and are at least 25% less...

Report of my first 4000 miles on a CCS (also my first 5 months of owning it)

So I actually had a flat this last week. I am guessing I either didn't have enough sealant in the tire in the first place, or riding in 100 degree temps everyday caused it to dry out too soon. At any rate it was of course on the rear tire; (wouldn't want it to be easy); I could've tried to jus...

Looking for comments on the Juiced Bikes Rip Current S - Should I purchase or spend more?

There's nothing magical about the preset programs, you can create a custom profile anytime you want with the satiator. I actually made one that charges to ~72% (54V) for the days I don't need the range just to promote longevity of the pack. Here's a chart to use as a reference for voltage as a...

The +$300 19.2 AH 48V Battery Has Been Replaced by the +$600 19.2 AH 52V Battery for CCS, RCS

You mentioned you have a 4 pin connector to your 21Ah battery. If so that would make it a 48V battery. Juiced standardized their battery connector types for safety. Small format 48V use barrel/pin connector; large format 48V use 4 pin XLR; large format 52V use 3 pin XLR. So to clarify, Juiced...

Three months with CCS: Good and Bad

Simply put YES! you definitely need to check spoke tension far more often with hub motor ebikes. Like you I am a long time road bike rider. My current road bike has only required spoke adjustment a couple of times in > 15,000 miles of riding. Fortunately, due to this forum, I have checked this...
