    DOF is "physics" limited, does not change with shutter speed. If f/1.8 has same DOF as f/(any larger number) (everything else the same) it is a software manipulation. Macro = tripod. I also typically have background cards and flashes with diffusers. Note: this is not "I'm going for a bike...

    Good for many macro subjects, focus stacking if not. Might be frustrating without the correct equipment and knowledge how to use it.

    Do you not notice the difference in crispness between the 2 sets of images? What's bad about a 100mm macro lens that can focus down to 12" (1:1 magnification). Need more magnification?, extension tubes.

    We often ride ebike to birding sites or arboretum. Phone camera sucks for birding and (depending on ambient conditions) macro work. Phone is great for "shoot and forget" photos.

    Depends on the intended end use of image, subject and in some cases ambient conditions. Most of the time, no.

    I'm not concerned with weight because the trailer doesn't care. Depending on plan, might be (2) bodies, 3 or 4 lenses, tripod, remote, etc. Usually much less though.

    In the big world picture, the Governors are pretty insignificant also. Only significant to their state though; I don't hold my state's Governor in high regard.
