    Question on 'dropped chain'?

I usually tuck my pants into my socks for a utility run. I'm not sure a bash guard will prevent the greasy chain mark on your favorite pants or the dreaded "caught pants leg in the chain ring". One small advantage of being older is we don't worry quite as much about fashion looks.

    Question on 'dropped chain'?

Yes and chains are directional too. Shimano 11sp have an orientation of one face must be outward (2 of 4 orientations) and I think 12sp are restricted to one orientation only (in addition to being more expensive).

Can One order Garmin Varias on 2022 Turbo Vado 4.0?

I use a Lupine Nano F headlight on my Creo using the Specialized Y-cable adapter part from the Vado SL. The Lupine e-bike compatability chart claims the SL 1.1 system can support up to 12V 8 W although the high beam on the Nano F is 14 watts which I only use at night on fast descents...

Proper seats/saddles (especially for an e-bike)

It's hard to ride properly when your seat to too sore to sit on the saddle. There is another video on the same Cam Nicholls channel by the fitter: A Simple Approach to Correct Saddle Height (for road cyclists) It's mostly a discussion of why too high is worse than too low.

    Creo Road Remotes

    Creo Road Remotes

I consider the road remotes to be a safety upgrade. The remote is too far down for anything other than a quick glance. You see riders without the remotes peering down at their top tubes for longer than is really safe. Also it is easy to drop to the power mode off for flat riding.

Proper seats/saddles (especially for an e-bike)

The added benefit to this discussion is e-bikes are frequently more difficult to adjust components to get a good fit. Saddles are like opinions, everybody has a box full of them trying to find the magic one but it's almost always not the saddle. One of the videos I like is "How to Perform a...

Proper seats/saddles (especially for an e-bike)

The seat height is set for riding not stopped conditions. I usually unclip and step off or lean with my right foot at stop lights and I start up with a right pedal stroke. Some people are right foot down. We want to be careful not to hijack the OP's thread because there is a lot of...

Proper seats/saddles (especially for an e-bike)

Do your hips look like a V-8 rocker arm when you're riding? Your hips should generally be relatively quiet. Sawing back and forth will give you saddle sores. Have someone ride with you with a gopro or phone so you can watch privately afterwards and you can see how much you are moving on the bike.

Charging SL internal battery via range extender?

You can set the Turbo SL system via the Specialized Mission Control app to use a Range Extender battery first but you cannot charge the main battery with a RE battery. It depends on your proposed use as to how often the main battery would need to be recharged. It is also probably possible to...

Proper seats/saddles (especially for an e-bike)

When you say "professionally fit" does that mean they put you and your bike on trainer and watch you pedal? Did they measure, interview, check angles and watch you pedal while you were on the bike? A professional fit takes a hour or more. Usually they will recommend a follow up after riding...

    Creo SL vs Vado SL

A medium Creo may not necessarily use the same size frame as a medium Vado SL. Example is the front fork where a Creo size large uses the same fork as a Vado SL size SM. They have four sizes of Vado SL and five Creo sizes. You have a frame from column A, a fork from column B, stem from column...

    Creo SL vs Vado SL

Sorry I did not get back to this sooner. This is a great comparison. I would have used the motor as primary the datum. The rear derailleur mount is the secondary datum. The front front fork as used in days of old is a derived point and can be changed by swapping forks and is not a good datum...

    Creo SL vs Vado SL

I agree they are not exactly the same frame but Specialized and most manufactures do not post enough data to accurately draw the two frames. The Vado SL looks like a value engineered E5 Version 2 with some simplifications near the head tube to reduce the manufacturing cost for the larger parts...

    Creo SL vs Vado SL

If you look at the frame weight limits on the support page, the main difference appears to be the tire width. The standard models have 28mm tires and the EVO models have 38mm tires with no other changes that would affect the load rating. It doesn't seem like the E5 model is as commonly...

    Creo SL vs Vado SL

The flow chart and the bottom chart agree 5lb/2.3kg for the rack on a carbon frame. I would need to look at the context of the middle chart and check the footnotes. The strength of the threaded fittings on the carbon frame is probably the limiting factor. The bottom chart also adds the use...

    Creo SL vs Vado SL

There are eyelets on the carbon frame just above the through axle (on my 2020-2021 model). The seat clamp accessory (S184700001) is a clamp to attach the top of the rack stays. I use them both for a fender. I have a Tailfin pack that has attaches to a through axle with a quick release and a...

Any experiences removing Creo internal battery and riding only with Extender?

Make sure you have the latest firmware in the bicycle and RE(s) as they have improved the behavior at the low levels for all batteries. One of these days I may do an experiment and take out my main battery too just to see what happens since I'm getting the same questions from my riding friends...

    Arghhhhh! My New Bike😡😡

I use this web site as a reference as they usually have the application table and picture to go with the parts. I think the price would have me going for the hot glue gun or epoxy too. https://webshop.bestbike.de/us/ele-my20-como-vado-tcd-w-wired-display-w-remote-co.html You can frequently...

    Creo SL vs Vado SL

It really depends on your riding style and how often you are doing the longer rides. The Vado SL is a much better commuter set up than a Creo. In my case, my former Vado SL was one size too large. I switched to a more comfortable correctly sized Creo. I found the riding positions on the Creo...
