Experience with Specialized Air Tool MTB Mini hand pump or CPRO2 CO2 gauge trigger?

I've quit using CO2 cartridges. I carry a Cycliq electric pump and an ultralight 30g light hand pump. Too often the two cartridges did not have enough finesse and control to solve the problem. The hand pump mount goes under the water bottle cage and the pump is along side the water bottle. I...

You can get a motor stall or other unusual behavior with a low cadence. The person that bought my Vado SL stalled the motor when he turned onto a steep 15% street without enough speed or cadence.

What is your cadence? It sounds like you are pedaling at very low cadence and under load. The SL system is designed for a cadence of around 70 rpm.

Modeling a Creo 2 motor in a Vado SL 1: Effect on rider power and battery consumption

I've gone back to my Creo 1 Expert (modified with E5 parts) because I like the fit and frame better. The Expert is a L and the E5 is a 56. I should have checked the geometry a little more but I seem to be sensitive to the reach more than anything else and should have gotten the 54. I suspect...

Modeling a Creo 2 motor in a Vado SL 1: Effect on rider power and battery consumption

Yes between Creo's. Vado SL 1 is the same motor mount, wiring etc as Creo's. It would make more sense to convert a Creo E5 to a flat bar.

Vado SL 2 Alloy version released

You can also use a tire pressure calculator. Read through the instructions to understand the limitations. https://www.renehersecycles.com/tire-pressure-calculator/ https://silca.cc/pages/pro-tire-pressure-calculator

Modeling a Creo 2 motor in a Vado SL 1: Effect on rider power and battery consumption

Ye You need to change the motor with the matching Mastermind TCU. I've been told you don't need to swap the battery but it's so easy to do at the same time and keep everything together.

Vado SL 2 Alloy version released

My LBS was quite happy to receive my Creo 2 from an online order. There is a slight reduction. I think it's three quarters or half. The inventories are different between dealer and online. They sometimes will have their customers order online to get the size and model they want. They get...

Bolt/Nut Size for Specialized VADO SL 5.0 EQ Rear Fender

Probably a Button head M5 x 10mm. Any bike shop or good hardware store would have those metric fasteners. The fastener on the bridge should be the same size to compare.

    Throttles and California

As far as your subterfuge, it's pretty obvious when someone is just moving their feet while riding 20mph. You're not fooling anybody at all with zero effort riding. I do think they are targeting the so called "off road" electric bikes and bad riding behavior. A couple of years ago parents...

Specialized in NYC - UL Certification?

This is a tempest in a teacup discussion. The NYC law was signed on March 20, 2023. You don't just call up UL or SGS testing labs and say hey we'll be there tomorrow for testing. I would be certain they had a schedule in-work for quite some time since EU standards require similar testing. I...

What Specialized Software Do you use for the Pro

The Specialized app is frequently updated (Android was 1-07-25). I was getting a pin request too but no place to input a pin. I had previously connected the bike with the app so finally I just deleted the bike from the app and then re-added it. It just reconnected without doing anything...

What Specialized Software Do you use for the Pro

I had to delete and re-add the bike to get it to connect to my Creo 2 earlier this month. I don't normally use the app but I wanted to change some settings. I use an android so I don't know what red/black is. They did change apps a while ago.

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

The 1.2 motor will fit but you would need the Mastermind TCU from a 1.2. Search the e-MTB forums for Lenovo/Kenevo SL's where people have done it by swapping motor and cranks, TCU and battery from a donor. The 520wH battery will never physically fit in the frame and if you read through the...

Specialized in NYC - UL Certification?

Little bit of a zombie thread. Most models have: "Compliance Certification As applicable, certified to UL 2849 (e-system) and/or UL 2271 (battery) by UL Solutions and/or SGS. For information on lithium-ion battery standards and regulations in New York City, visit: www.nyc.gov/fdny/batteries"

It's Mastermind TCU on a Creo SL and SL2/Vado SL/Kenevo SL/Levo SL. The article title is "Charging External Devices via the MasterMind Display" but the second half discusses the MasterMind TCU display which features a USB-C port. I was surprised too. Considering you have to have your handy...

Supporting your LBS with at least an annual visit is good. There may be some corner conditions that require recharging even with riding. Considering you can also use the Mastermind USB-C port to charge other devices...

Alternatively just ride it all year and keep the TCU charged by using it. Unless there is a Rider Care Technical Bulletin that recommends annual recharge, there is nothing mentioned on the support site. There is a TB for initial charging after shipping or if a service part was installed that...

Replacing The Coin Battery In the Specialized SL TCU Gen 1

The support site has been updated with a lot of information that was previously only on the dealer portal. I am not aware of the Mastermind needing a charge unless it's not been used for a quite a while...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I think the Creo 2 Comp is the value point in the current lineup rather than the less expensive manual shifting aluminum Comp E5. The Comp E5 also has a slightly different geometry with a max tire size of 48mm vs 2.2in (55mm). The Comp E5 is a great platform for a flat bar conversion into a...
