Help choosing step-through -- Moustache Lundi 7.1 or Specialized Turbo Como 3.0?

Thank you for your insightful reply, Jimbo08. On my size S test rides, the seat post was adjusted as far down as it would go. I suppose raising it some will alleviate the knee bend. I might not be able to mount the size L easily due to the hip surgery and an operated leg with muscles that are...

Help choosing step-through -- Moustache Lundi 7.1 or Specialized Turbo Como 3.0?

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response, stOut. You're absolutely right! I was just thinking it over on my way home from the bike store, that I have not yet received a proper fitting for size and/or adjustments - just a couple of glances and a salesman's decision to put me on a SMALL...

Help choosing step-through -- Moustache Lundi 7.1 or Specialized Turbo Como 3.0?

Do you think the Specialized Turbo Como 3.0 Low-Step, size SMALL, the bike shop person says fits me might be too small for me? When I cycle, my knees are quite high, but the bottoms of my feet completely touch the ground when I stop. If the seat is raised, my knees will be better, but I will be...

Help choosing step-through -- Moustache Lundi 7.1 or Specialized Turbo Como 3.0?

Thank you! I tried the same two bikes again today and, oddly, I found the exact opposite. The Moustache Lundi was uncomfortable and the Specialized Como 3.0 was better. But my knees are quite high, so the seat should be higher, but at that point I will be standing on my tip toes when I come to a...

e-bike insurance in Vancouver, BC, Canada?

Thank you for explaining, EpicTwiglet. I noticed that. I looked at some folding bikes online and was shocked by how heavy they are. I doubt I could lift one of the heavier ones into my car, and maybe not even the 48-pound ones either! They are as heavy as non-folding e-bikes.

Help choosing step-through -- Moustache Lundi 7.1 or Specialized Turbo Como 3.0?

THANK YOU very much for your thoughtful reply. Okay! My mind is made up. I tried the Moustache and the Specialized Como 3.0 again today. I found the Moustache Lundi 27.1 very uncomfortable and the Specialized Como 3.0 much better! Yesterday, my experience was the exact opposite! So now, thanks...

    Need recommendations...

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I am having problems with e-bikes' geometry. When I find one where the seat isn't too tall for me to get onto, my knees are bent too much. I realize that over time after one's confidence in riding a bike builds, there are ways to get off the bike or...

Has anyone owned a Moustache Lundi 7?

I'm looking at a Moustache Lundi 7.1 and a Specialized Turbo Como 3.0. Trying to decide. Urban use only. I need a low-step and the lower the better.

Help choosing step-through -- Moustache Lundi 7.1 or Specialized Turbo Como 3.0?

Thank you, Stefan! Do you know anyone who has a Moustache, though? I tried the Como 3.0 and Moustache yesterday at the same store. The Moustache was so much easier to mount than the Como, what with the hip. I haven't tried a Vado yet.

e-bike insurance in Vancouver, BC, Canada?

I have been in all of the older 1950s and early 1960s buildings along Bellevue. My paper route included those buildings when I was a kid in West Van. Our family home was between the ocean and Marine Drive just west of Dundarave Village. Several of those buildings are rental buildings, with...

Help choosing step-through -- Moustache Lundi 7.1 or Specialized Turbo Como 3.0?

Thank you, Art Deco. I appreciate the time you put into your thoughtful reply. The Moustache is indeed heavy, but it comes with more accessories (fenders, bike rack, frame lock) than the Como, so that might account for some of the additional weight. The 2021 Moustache Lundi 27.1 weighs 55.8 lbs...

e-bike insurance in Vancouver, BC, Canada?

I believe, but am not certain, that I can get insurance for an e-bike that might be stolen from a condo locker. You raised a good point. I will have to look into this. By the way, houses have their problems, too! The wrong neighbours move in next door. You have asthma, but a few doors down, a...

    First e-bike - best value for quality/range?

A Specialized Turbo Como 3.0 is currently $4,159 in Vancouver, BC. Treks are even pricier here! Trek is a US brand, built in the USA. It's the exchange rate that kills Canadians. $1 USD = $1.21+ CAD.

e-bike insurance in Vancouver, BC, Canada?

True - if you live downtown. Downtown is full of addicts and low-lifes. Vancouver's city councils have been attempting to gentrify downtown's historic Gastown area, which is where a friend lives. He has had 2 e-bikes stolen within 3 months. He recently sold his 3rd and bought a motorcycle...

It's the "homeless," drug addicts, and bums who take transit to commit crimes all over Vancouver.

e-bike insurance in Vancouver, BC, Canada?

Condos suck. But I have a gorgeous view, and I'm only 3 blocks from a beautiful beach. We have an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a sauna, a whirlpool, an exercise room, a party and movie room, and it was built in the 1960s and considered THE luxury condo building at that time. Having said that, I...

e-bike insurance in Vancouver, BC, Canada?

Yes, probably! A resident of this building owns a folding electric bike, which he keeps in his suite. BUT... my condo building has a separate concrete bicycle bunker at the far end of its parking lot - locked, of course! The residents keep their bicycles in it - some are very expensive e-bikes...
