    The last ebike manufacturing challenge

Electric motors are pretty quiet in general. Can't say that I notice much in the way of a noise from my Bosch when I'm riding. Some times there is a very faint whine but that's about it. My tires are fairly wide but have a street tread so they are quiet as well.

    I hate your ebike...

Funny they don't think motorcycles are cheating. Those are the real cheaters!

    Cannondale Contro-e Short Review

They are one of the few suppliers I could find and I believe are out of england. Good people to do business with.

    Cannondale Contro-e Short Review

I had the same thing happen with my chain, it jumped the front sprocket. The plastic guard is absolutely useless. It does a lousy job of keeping your pants off the chain and it's not strong enough to prevent a chain from jumping. Worse yet, once it's mashed, there is no getting it back into...

Learning to ride an ebike: How ebiking skills are different from general cycling skills, and how they develop

Or on the opposite end of the spectrum: Forgetting to shift down at a stop and then trying to get going again with traffic coming.

    Lower back pain and bikes

I agree, switching hand position is one of the keys. I have the Ergon grips with the horns that allow for multiple griping positions and it hellps but not completely.

Learning to ride an ebike: How ebiking skills are different from general cycling skills, and how they develop

The only thing I noticed switching from a regular bike to an e-bike was that I didn't have to peddal as hard.

    Lower back pain and bikes

I'm still trying to figure out how to solve the hand numbness issue. I have very little of it with my road bike, which has a very forward leaning position. You would think a more upright position, with less weight on the hands, such as with my E-bike would be even better but alas no, it's...

    Lower back pain and bikes

What I have discovered in 15 years of office ergonomics is that everyone is different and what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another. I have had patients who also could not sit on anything but a kneeling chair. I had one client who was most comfortable on the flattest, hardest...

    Lower back pain and bikes

Actually a kneeling chair does not cause you to lean forward. The main thing about a kneeling chair is that the seat tilts forward. It would seem that this would cause you to lean forward but your knees keep you upright. You are actually sitting with your spine vertically positioned. This...

    Stretching before you ride?

There seems to be some new thinking on stretching and its effectiveness. As a young fella, I never stretched before or after enguaging in sports and never had any issues. Now that I'm an old fella, I still just go for it...

Ebikes are no longer a rare sight on my commute

It's the same as owning a Volvo, once you own one, you see them everywhere.

Don't charge your bike battery above 80% and don't ride below 20%. Maybe, maybe not.

I think the best solution and the simplest is to not charge your battery to 100% until just before you ride. It's the sitting with a 100% charge that is a lot of the problem. That and draining it completely. If my battery is way down after a long ride, I'll charge it up to around 80% and...

Don't charge your bike battery above 80% and don't ride below 20%. Maybe, maybe not.

I have found the easiest solution for me is to keep it partially charged until I'm ready to use it and then fully charge it just prior to going on a long ride.

Known Issues & Problems with Cannondale Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

One issue with the Contor-e is that with the kickstand adjusted all the way in, the bike is almost vertical and takes only the slightest touch to knock it over. I'm not typically a fan of kickstands on bicycles but being this bike is as much a motor scooter as it is a bicycle, it does come in...

I'm not fond of riding in the rain. I only do by accident but thanks for the tip.

    E-bike in the rain

I have ridden my Cannondale Contro-e with the Bosh system on two rainy rides. Neither of which were my choice. I didn't think anything of it at the time but a few days ago it was warm and sunny and I noticed some condensation had formed on the inner surface of the controller screen. I left...
