2022 Specialized Como Turbo 5.0 vs R&M vs Stromer ST2

For me, with an M/L Como 3, I needed to raise the bars 160mm. My wife needed bars raised on her Giant La Free. Both of us are over 60, have mild arthritis, some lower back issues. What Specialized has done is prioritized form over function with their new Como design. The stock setup has the bars...

2022 Specialized Como Turbo 5.0 vs R&M vs Stromer ST2

The One-Up has a soft roller option for the fenders. It sits over the Fender and still provides plenty of lockdown for that wheel. We have two e-bikes with Fenders and they both work well with the optional soft rollers. PS: you can always spot a guitar player, as their spell check capitalizes...

I use that as well. Best rack on the market!

2022 Specialized Como Turbo 5.0 vs R&M vs Stromer ST2

One thing about the 2022 Como 4.0 or 5.0 or the SL. The new Comos have no way to adjust or raise the handlebars. They have a proprietary head on the front of the bike that won’t take a riser or let you replace the bars. SO, you have to either love the position you get or you are out of luck...

    Vado SL: EQ or Not

The light comes off the seat with two screws. The holes for those screws are what I used, with cable ties, to secure the light to my Brooks saddle. It was much easier than I expected.

    Vado SL: EQ or Not

I put a Brooks Saddle on my Como and kept the light by cable-tying it to the saddle bag hangers on the saddle. I know that doesn’t help you with removing your saddle but perhaps helps with idea about how to repurpose the light.

Brand New COMO (after SL 4/5)?

My LBD was correct! Note: there is already another thread about this, so please post there. https://www.specialized.com/us/en/turbo-como

Took my Como 5 in for firmware update - cost me $3750

After a lot of trial and error, I found that 2150mm is the magic number. With that as the circumference on my Como 2020 3.0, my bike, my Garmin Edge Explore, and Strava on my Apple Watch are all within about 2/10 of a mile for a 20 mile ride. Somewhere, on one of my posts, I show all three at...

    Guess I missed this.

Brand New COMO (after SL 4/5)?

I heard from a bike store today word of a brand new Como to be introduced soon. It's neither the SL 4 or 5 but will be introduced subsequent to them. That's all I know. Anybody hear anything else?

    Vado SL: EQ or Not

Hopefully, everyone angles their lights down at the ground. I pass so many riders with their lights shining straight into my face these days, it’s nuts. Bright LED lights literally cause me to see spots.

    Vado SL: EQ or Not

I don’t know. I just have the stock fork on mine.

    Vado SL: EQ or Not

Here you go. I didn't have a measuring device handy, but you should be able to get the idea from the photos. We raised it considerably.

    Vado SL: EQ or Not

My bike store did it when I bought the bike, so I am not sure the model or the height. I know we didn’t have to lengthen the cables, but if I wanted it any higher, we would have to. I will try and get the brand and height tomorrow.

    Vado SL: EQ or Not

Have you installed a riser and raised your bars? I have a Como 3.0 2020 that I did that to, and it makes for a very comfortable riding position. I LOVE the Vado SL weight, but would need to really raise the bars to be able to ride it. Curious if any of you have done that. If so, did you have to...

Como - Crank arm retainer problem - please advise

Updates still have to be done by bike store, sadly. You can check software versions with Mission Control App.

Loose Motor on Como 2.0 UPDATE: Cracked Frame (Vados too)

From the way mine failed, my semi-educated guess is that screws got loose, which loosened the motor, which caused the motor to torque one side of the frame mount against the other, until the frame cracked. So, each year when I take my bike in for its annual tuneup, I have my LBS check the screws...

Loose Motor on Como 2.0 UPDATE: Cracked Frame (Vados too)

So sorry to hear that this is happening. In my case, I got a new bike. A 2020 Como 3. So far, with over 3000 miles on it, it's doing fine. Specialized guarantees their frames for life, so hopefully you will get exactly what you want to remedy the issue. Please keep the thread posted.
