    Electric Car thread

I have 2 Konas. 1 is EV and 1 is a leased ICE Kona and the lease is up in about a year. I think my next vehicle will be a hybrid. Now gotta figure out which one! The EV is an around town grocery getter that gives me range anxiety any time I leave my village...

    Does your e-bike need makeup?

I prefer my bikes stay under the radar. No need to draw attention from the bike pirates!

Best vehicle rack for step-thru e-bikes

I cant see why one would buy the Quick R Stuff when the 1 Up looks identical, made in the USA as well and 30% cheaper. What am I missing? Full disclosure- I have a 1.25 1 up Quick rack single and recently sold my 2 inch Heavy Duty Double.

    Zen Photon Pro- Preorder | 1040Wh UL Certified battery | 500W nominal/900W peak power Torque-sensing motor w/ Throttle | USD 2999 | CAD 3999

I agree. My Topeak bags feel fairly solid attached with my "bailing wire and chewing gum system" but it's always in the back of my mind when I go over a bump as I have to look back to see if the Topeak is still attached. Topeak should offer replacement arms to their adapter that are about a half...

    Zen Photon Pro- Preorder | 1040Wh UL Certified battery | 500W nominal/900W peak power Torque-sensing motor w/ Throttle | USD 2999 | CAD 3999

I attached a couple of pics. The problem is not with the bike racks but rather with the Topeak adapter. The Topeak arms that secure the adapter to the rack are too short. I made a high tech fix by running 4 heavy duty zip ties through the Topeak adapter arms and secured to the rack. ;) So far...

Best vehicle rack for step-thru e-bikes

I have the 1.25 Quick Rack single and it works great. Takes a couple of minutes to install on the vehicle and even less time to mount up a bike. Very solid. No cheesy plastic pieces involved... https://1up-usa.com/product/1-25-2-quik-rack-single

https://www.topeak.com/us/en/product/1323-OMNI-QUICKTRACK-ADAPTER I wonder how the Photo rack would accept this Topeak Adapter? The Topeak does not fit my ESpin or Aventon. I have had to make some mods to the rack and adapter to make it fit...

    Kona Dew-E vs. ECOCO?

Just bumpin this as I somehow ended up looking up the Kona CoCo and found it is only 30 lbs. Quite light and the components look decent. 2 grand US is a little more than I would pay, but would probably be interested at $1500... https://www.konaworld.com/products/coco-hd
