Are all Bosch mid-drive systems Class 1 only and... is that good or bad?

This is interesting, finding out further information regarding UK law. More details; “Electric mopeds and motorbikes Electric motorbikes, like conventionally powered motorbikes and mopeds, are categorised by power and speed and different laws apply for different kinds of bikes. The same rules...

Are all Bosch mid-drive systems Class 1 only and... is that good or bad?

Found some more information from Wisper. “Wisper are now offering a limited run of their 806, 705 and 905 electric bike models with a full throttle capable of powering the bikes up to 15.5mph without pedalling. David Miall, Founder and Director of Wisper, says: “I am particularly excited to be...

Are all Bosch mid-drive systems Class 1 only and... is that good or bad?

No, they have managed to make them legal up to 15.5 mph with the DVSA. I think the only manufacturer in the UK to this. DG…

I don’t know if you have Wisper bikes where you are, but they do a full throttle legal version in the UK. May be worth investigating. DG…

Same in the UK. You see a lot of young people on all types of bikes. Steering one handed as they are doing something with their phone, not paying attention and weaving all over the place. Of course, no helmet either. Another thing you see, particularly with family groups, Dad not wearing a...

Took a ride out today to Stowe. The estate is run by The National Trust, but Stowe Public School, one of the most expensive in the UK, is still separate. Some views of Stowe. A nice place for a picnic stop. Second picnic stop. The weather is unusually warm for the UK at the moment as...

    Squeaky Belt - how common?

My belt on my Nevo3 GT Vario GX wasn’t squeaking as such, but making a rubbing noise with some vibration. The LBS turned the belt round, cleaned it and sprayed it with some silicone. They also slightly re-positioned the snubber wheel. All was OK for a while, but the issue did come back...

Yes, the Garmin Epix worked, but the Specialized ANGI didn’t. I had the ANGI system prior to getting the Epix and continue to use it as it is supposed to be more responsive than the Garmin system, but is this case, not. Will probably still use the ANGI as it notifies Mrs DG when I start and...

@Readytoride Sorry to hear of your fall, but glad both you and the bike are OK. Mine was also a low speed incident. Coming along a cycle track some workers were replacing a wire fence and new wooden posts. I had slowed down for them, but didn’t notice a roll of fence wire which was...

Schwalbe Johnny Watts (and other Schwalbe SUV tyres) User Club

I have changed my JWs to the Marathon Plus MTBs. So far, so good. Tyre noise on roads is minimal (can’t hear anything above the engine noise) and grip on loose stuff is very good. Appearance wise, very similar to the JWs and very pleased with them.

I remember punk in its early days in the 70s in the UK and went to a number of gigs at the time. Two notable ones were The Stranglers where a massive brawl broke out. And Blondie, Debbie Harry in a black bin bag when you’re a young 17 year old is a sight to behold. I had a pierced ear at the...

Two rides today. Keeping up the exercise regime. The saddle seems about right now, just got to let it bed in. Good news on the noise and vibration front. I have found that this becomes noticeable when the Gates Carbon Rubber belt gets very dusty. Whether this is because the there are pannier...
