Myth BUSTED: "The Chain Drops On My Specialized E-Bike Because The Chainring Is Praxis WAVE"

I did not know that! It's written nowhere. I was told by LBS that the connecting link had to sit exactly in the middle of that graphic. You see why i was having difficulty now? So good information to anyone who thinks the same.

Myth BUSTED: "The Chain Drops On My Specialized E-Bike Because The Chainring Is Praxis WAVE"

Yes I understand that but I think we were talking about the Praxis wave chainring with the location sign on the inside of the ring.

Myth BUSTED: "The Chain Drops On My Specialized E-Bike Because The Chainring Is Praxis WAVE"

Definitely agree with you there! Did manage it on the bike stand at home eventually but at the side of the road in the middle of nowhere practically impossible!

Myth BUSTED: "The Chain Drops On My Specialized E-Bike Because The Chainring Is Praxis WAVE"

You guys have far more knowledge and experience than me but having been stranded 5 times in 12 months I'm happy to use the narrow wide ring as I've lost confidence in the Praxis.

New Vado SL 4.0 - harsh ride!

Thankyou. I had not considered replacing the bars. I presume apart from the weight loss they will flex a little adding to the shock absorbing. Now looking for inner bar ends too.

New Vado SL 4.0 - harsh ride!

I guess the best course of action is to experiment and not to just go with what the instructions say. Remembering that the elastomers do take a little while riding to 'bed in'

New Vado SL 4.0 - harsh ride!

This is what the redshift stem looks like inside before the handlebar is fitted. The little cushions are called elastomers and you can pick the density according to your needs.

New Vado SL 4.0 - harsh ride!

I had been suffering very sore shoulders and wrists which were being caused by pot holes and general bad road surfaces. Kept me awake at night it was so bad. I thought i was going to end my cycling. I was getting physio and eating Ibuprofen Within 2 weeks of fitting the Redcroft sports stem i...

Specialized turbo vado SL 4.0 chainring information.

Just a quick update. 50 miles since the change and no problems at all ! The change from 44 tooth to 38 tooth has transformed the climbing ability of the bike. It feels like the motor has more torque. The downside is less top speed but i dont care about that. The ability to climb is more...

Specialized turbo vado SL 4.0 chainring information.

Yes the derailleur is set normally and not forward. The dealer did say most bikes are fine just 'some' seem to have the problem.

Specialized turbo vado SL 4.0 chainring information.

One more thing to note; when you change the chainring you lose the chain guard as only the specific one has the facility to attach it. No biggy for me.(see photo from today's ride)

Specialized turbo vado SL 4.0 chainring information.

I have just remembered something else said. The chain line on the Turbo SL is not perfect due to the quite wide motor so this would not help with the wave chainring either

Specialized turbo vado SL 4.0 chainring information.

I haven't had any accident with mine but it goes to show what my dealer said to me was correct. With a wave pattern chainring the teeth are pointing in different directions. First right the next one left and so on. The idea is that the tooth grips just the one side of the link to allow any mud...
