Thought I'd share a letter I sent to Lectric on behalf of all of us waiting for our bikes.

sure, but it’s pretty clear from Lectrics site that your are checking out and paying now and the product is not shipping now. they even have a page/faq stating they charge up front and why. so to me the seller is accepting this situation by proceeding with their transaction. if consumers...

feels a little apple/oranges. can you provide some examples of direct online sellers who do not take full payment at the time of checkout and instead take full payment at the time of delivery to the consumer?

Juiced Bikes support seriously lacking, 10 days and all I get is an auto respond.

🤣 never said anyone deserves to be treated badly. “shitty customer service” is a subjective characterization that can be defined differently by different people. if having to file support tickets and wait for a response is “shitty” by someone’s standards then they need to shop with due...

    Helmet without straps?

head sock and velcro affixment to inside of helmet? my heritage helmet from Thousand is fairly secure even without the straps once the dial adjuster in the back is done, this tightens the fit at the base of the skull, below it’s widest part. you’d have to determine for yourself if this is...

for me was important to use fedex app and the built in alerts it provides for status changes…like delays, delivery exceptions, etc. in this day and age we can’t just take any initial delivery estimates at their word, it’s a fluid situation with lots of external pressures.

Get a good helmet, and wear it.

this theory has some credibility. if MIPS were exponentially better that prevailing technologies wouldn’t multiple “safety warrior” organizations bud petitioning to make it a mandate, an industry standard, etc?

Bike Insurance? ebikes not covered under homeowners/renters, & >750W not covered by bike insurance

if you are not vain about looks. cover the bike in spray paint, random stickers all over. at least two locks of different types and park next to equally nice bikes that are more attractive and less secure. me? i moved to where bike theft is far less a pervasive problem.

    Mechanical brakes vs Hydraulic brakes

i don’t categorically suggest one is better than the other, they share many similarities as noted. there’s been several detailed explanations above that go into those differences and their potential meaning or contribution to using them. if i had my preference ive been most happy with full...

excited new rider and a few questions

as others have previously posted, it sounds from your description thst indexing adjustment is needed. press through this entire page, watch the videos and then decide if this is something you feel capable of doing or if you need a shop. none of this is particularly complicated, but you need...

Tucson, AZ, ban on ebikes riding the Loop

indeed and it’s not merely a carve out for ebike prohibition, it’s a carveout for all sorts of using…. disallowing swimming at beaches for whatever reason, prohibiting bikes, ebikes, horses, pedestrians, etc. we have entire beaches closed here all the time for nesting shorebird seasons…. the...

Juiced Bikes support seriously lacking, 10 days and all I get is an auto respond.

i think you misinterpreted my statement, i was not excusing shitty customer service (which is a perception issue), i was commenting that online/direct brands tend not to have 24/7 support, tend to require zendesk or other self-help tools, tend to accept only email form requests for support...

Tucson, AZ, ban on ebikes riding the Loop

don’t they know the CPSC says a bike is a bike? Don’t they know the lawmakers are spandex weenies who don’t know anything? I suspect people for bikes is behind all of this….

excited new rider and a few questions

what pedaling recommends above is the way. the clicking is likely the chain stuck between the gears rather than on them. if you don’t feel comfortable or competent adjusting the shifting based in watching the linked video then next option is a bike shop. but it’s really worth your time...

Nice. i have two as well, one sat a week or two longer waiting for pickup than the other but both i feel were worth the wait now that i finally have them. there is no getting around how heavy they are though…. exceptionally heavy to move (i live in a condo so cannot keep them unfolded in a...

Tucson, AZ, ban on ebikes riding the Loop

i suspect it’s simply not solely a “goes too fast” rationale. otherwise why prohibit motorcycles, autos, tractor trailer trucks in the path as long as they are going the speed limit. the flaw in logic is that electric bikes are not “simply” bikes, they are electric bikes and that has meaning...

they have reported to me they are producing approx 16,000 bikes per month now at the factory and FedEx is picking up approx 500/day from their warehouse. so theres one big bottleneck they cannot 100 percent influence. do you doubt they have tried to increase the quantity per day picked up...

why havent you cancelled and gone with a competitor bike? what scenario would you prefer? it is assumed they cannot 100% predict delivery. the variables involved in that prediction are affected industry wide and common knowledge at this point. you demand an answer they simply cannot give...
