A good throttle should have a progressive range. Unfortunately a lot of cheap ones barely do. It is mostly useful if your motor is powerful enough and you are using the high-power mode though. The Motor amps do not go through the throttle. The throttle just modulates a 0 to 5V signal to the...

On the specialized controller, do you have the ability to put the Enviolo in manual mode with a few simulated gears selectable with the factory controls, or do you need the app for that and a separate Enviolo shifter?

Likely not the issue, but normal procedure is to FIRST connect the battery to the charger (charger being OFF), and then power on the charger. NOT plug the charger then connect the battery.
