Cadence sensor driven rear hubs.. adding a torque sensor to existing systems?

While variable regen is the ultimate tool (usually on a lever), a good controller gives ramping curve adjustments so that you can adjust how it will ramp up when you trigger regen and ramp down when you release it. In my experience this is sufficient for a great regen experience and much easier...

Cadence sensor driven rear hubs.. adding a torque sensor to existing systems?

I thought that too, but My experience with the Boxxbike changed my mind. The bike came with a regen on throttle mode that would trigger a certain level of regen when you release the throttle. It was meant to create an engine brake (this is an 8kw bike), and it did a good job for that. I then...

How is purely torque-sensing PAS actually implemented?

The difference when the power comes from the cadence sensor, is that you have to increase or decrease the power using the power assist steps with a button. So it is like a throttle, but a step one which is way less responsive than gunning a real throttle. You can still reach full speed, but you...

How to make brakes less powerful

Having a twist throttle on the right on my e-bike, I have also put the Front brake on the right. This is the logic I was use to on motorcycles all my life, and it also make sense as you don't want to be twisting that throttle and braking at the same time.

    Spoke Tension

You should ask the manufacturer what the spoke tension should be. If the rim is centered on the HUB, the tension would be the same on both side, but if the rim is off center (asymmetric lacing), then the tension would be different.

    Como 5.0 IGH & Vado 5.0 IGH

On an e-bike, the effort being reduced, there is often a use for a reduce cadence on leisurely rides. I think extending the range to address that was a good move on the part of Specialized.
