    Which brake first?

I do most of my braking using front and rear when front wheel is pointed relativally straight ahead. Using the front wheel break when doing a slow sharp slow turn and the wheel will tuck in under you. Been there done that.

Battery safety education - Only you can prevent battery fires!

I too live in AZ where my garage gets to 110+ degrees so I bring my bike into the house to minimize the chance of the heat damaging batteries, or other heat sensitive components. Whether it preserves anything is a good question. Why take a chance with an expensive piece of equipment when it is...

Help finding a mid-drive, torque ebike with a throttle and natural pedal assist?

Hits the nail on the head. Very well said.

Help! Can't get my wife to try ebike.

I agree. Putting a motor on a bike to assist the rider should have as many ways to do that as possible. Yes, a throttle being one of them.

Help finding a mid-drive, torque ebike with a throttle and natural pedal assist?

It doesn't't seem prudent to be riding a bike 27 miles from home in the condition you are in without someone you can call to rescue you and bike if needed.

Help finding a mid-drive, torque ebike with a throttle and natural pedal assist?

Not so. My Juiced combined the two very well. Smooth power delivery feeling very natural.

    Online E-Bikes - is it a scam?

I have a Prodigy ST with over a thousand miles on it. It is my third bike and no complaints on this brand what so ever. LOVE IT. Would buy another Prodigy from Ride1up in a hartbeat.

Help! Can't get my wife to try ebike.

You gotta make it sound like it is her idea.

    Pinion Motor.Gearbox.Unit (MGU)

I believe the motor & gearbox in one unit is the future for ebikes. It should be cheaper to build motor & transmission in one unit than two separate unites.

New 7 speed Middrive motor! Is this the future?

It is hard to stop progress and my take is this is the ultimate all in one drive train principle and the future for refined electric bikes. It just makes sense. Nothing stays the same! Never has and never will. When Ford Motor Co. designed the Ford tractor without a frame with the motor...

    2000 miles on Ride1up 700 - what I learnt and what I want now

That is not necessarily correct. My mid drive did not have a smooth power delivery at all.

Prodigy st or aventon pace 500.3

I have had two other brand bikes and now have a Prodigy ST. The Prodigy feels and looks superior in so many ways. The high end German motor is so quiet, smooth and gives a natural feeling power delivery that is free of jerking, surges etc. The geometry of the bike just feels right. The bike...

What's your opinion on the "Idaho Stop" law?

Something else to discuss. What about two wheel machines splitting lanes. Personally I am for it. One just has to watch out for the grump who sees you coming and opens his car door just before you get to his car. So many people just seem to hate bicyclists so we need to be courteous and...

I too live in Tucson, AZ. For years I have wanted to haul my bike to to the top Mt Lemon and ride down but never have. If anyone has please comment on the ride.

Powder coating wore off to metal on Turbo Vado 5.0

You can rest assured it isn't a high enough grade stainless steel for a magnet to not stick.

Powder coating wore off to metal on Turbo Vado 5.0

If it is aluminum a magnet won't stick, steel it will.

2022 Vado - Flat tire while on kickstand

The kickstand is holding the bike too upright so when tire goes flat it stands straight up and tips. Shorten the kickstand .

shifting down under strain on Prodigy

Letting up when shifting just makes sense to ease the strain on the system. A torque system can keep power on just a bit when one lets up peddle pressure so as to not have an on and off feel if peddle pressure is interrupted momentarily. That could be annoying as he##. I have found for instant...

Drivetrain longevity on 2023 Surface 604 V Rook

You answered your ow question. One word. SAND. You need an IGH with a belt drive.

shifting down under strain on Prodigy

I too have a Prodigy. Mine does cut power when shifting but only for a split second. It is nearly undetectable.
