Additional Battery For Gazelle Ultimate C380+

Yes, you need to slide it and you can do it only from one end (don't remember is it top of bottom). You will need to stretch it a bit while sliding, but this is relatively easy operation, especially once you do it few times.

    Are We Condemned to Strava?

Glad it works well for you, Stefan! I am using it a lot as well and it helped me to cover the gap with route planning service for Bosch ecosystem. Bosch has improved their online route planning service a lot since then, but I still prefer Komoot! P.S. Komoot mobile app is pretty descent as...

    Are We Condemned to Strava?

There is free region available. Also you can unlock the region bundle or global region via single-time payment (see here for available options). However their premium subscription adds pretty much nothing valuable for me, so I just bought the world region and using it (see here for World Pack /...

    Are We Condemned to Strava?

Stefan, did you try Komoot for this purpose? As far as I see, these two services are competitors in lots of areas. I am currently using Komoot (mostly because of Bosch integration), curious if I should consider RideWithGPS instead (mostly for route planning and managing my routes collection).

Well, if you are handy this won't stop you for sure! However internal cable/lines routing can make a process pretty difficult. I did replace Shimano brakes with Magura on my C380+ and wiring new brake line though the frame to the rear wheel was an multi-hour exercise, which required partial bike...

Taking into account Serial 1 position their bike to be in $4k+ category, this is reasonable implementation to expect. Looks cool, however will make the repairs/replacement more difficult.

It is not. This is standard brose display. Wires are probably hidden inside the handlebar, similar to the brake lines.

Looks clean and minimalistic! However I think you can do better with cable management ;)

    Bafang's 5-Speed Automatic IGH

5 gears and 316% ratio is something usable! They used to have 3 gears and 166%, which was not really much useful. Anyone knows what "automatic shifting" means here? Is it cadence based? Is desired cadence configurable?

Wanted a belt drive and internal hub - Ordered a Flluid 2-s

Totally agree, the risk is here for sure. But how otherwise small companies can enter ebike market where big players are for decades? They have to innovate, offer lower pricing and attract enthusiast. Yes, not all of them will survive, but those which do will bring something new to the table. As...

Wanted a belt drive and internal hub - Ordered a Flluid 2-s

This is the e-bike/e-moto company founded by Erik Buell. You can check out Wikipedia for details if you don't know this name. Also they have pretty good about us page. However what I consider much more important, they already has a successful kickstarter campaign, delivering what was promised...

Wanted a belt drive and internal hub - Ordered a Flluid 2-s

That is why I explicitly specified this: properly sized bike. Don't buy something which doesn't fit you well - this is rule #1 for sure. High probability, however as I already mentioned above - we need some progress in this area and we need more motor + gearing integrated systems. I really want...

Wanted a belt drive and internal hub - Ordered a Flluid 2-s

This never stopped companies from selling their bikes. Try to find some parts (or better spare battery) from Serial 1 / Harley Davidson ebike or get it serviced at LBS! However they are being sold pretty actively, including via Best Buy. While Fuell being less known and advertised is doing much...

Wanted a belt drive and internal hub - Ordered a Flluid 2-s

Can't agree more, however pretty much any properly sized bike can be adjusted to particular person pretty easily with no/low cost (i.e. for better grips or saddle).

Wanted a belt drive and internal hub - Ordered a Flluid 2-s

what is so special about these "made for riding long distances" bikes? Those Flluid 2/3 ebikes looks pretty descent for such rides - otherwise it doesn't make any sense to ride with 2x1kW batteries all the time: as far as I understood from their web site, there are no cover for batteries...

Wanted a belt drive and internal hub - Ordered a Flluid 2-s

Why? People ride centuries all the time and doing this on capable ebike is even more fun!

Are newer hub motors as capable as mid drives?

Some people build things with 5kW or 10kW hub motors and still call them "ebikes" - I think these things can do it and probably faster than 12mph, however I would never call these monsters bikes.
