I have a friend who developed annoying "halos" after getting the upgraded lenses (not sure which she went with). Apparently they'll never go away - she's investigating options, but is not happy she spent a bunch of money and got that outcome. She's in the minority though, developing that issue...

Just because something is less expensive, doesn't mean it's cheap. I have both a mid drive and rear hub drive bike, and while my hub drive is not expensive (for an ebike), it's not "cheap" (in the sense of crappy poor quality) either. Are there cheap, in the sense noted above, hub drive bikes...

There is a lot of research going on right now to develop cleaner batteries. Technological development is not stagnant. We are in the process of transition at the moment, and a lot of things are in flux. The US has a lot of catching up and redesigning/reengineering to do. I think we CAN do it...

There's a small "no turn on red" sign dangling from the signal cable near our place in NC - people behind me frequently beep at me when I'm stopped in my car, waiting for the green. I roll my window down far enough to get my arm out, and point to the sign.
