    Riding without the motor

When I want exercise, I turn off the PAS on my 68# bike and pedal a few miles. After the "workout", I switch on the PAS and enjoy the scenery for the rest of the ride. This way, I can use the same bike for both exercise and enjoyment. No need to haul around two bikes. As a result, I recently...

    xt 30 connector voltage

I actually carry a copy of the 52V section in my wallet for quick reference. You'd think I would have committed the chart to memory by now, but I still need it from time to time.

Yeah, I have a laminated copy on the wall next to my chargers. Very useful, thanks for posting it.

    Hi gang!

You pick up the lingo after awhile here. You've got most of them right. "Ghost pedaling" means to spin the crank with little or no pedal pressure while allowing the cadence sensor to activate the motor. Makes it look like you're pedaling the bike. "Analog" is a term used locally along with...

    Rechargeable inflator

I use these quick release hose adapters: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MXBYPT2?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1 One end threads into the existing hose and has a quick release chuck on the other. I lose less than a half pound of air during the release when filling a 2.25 x 26...

    xt 30 connector voltage

I'm not sure about Bafang, but many batteries have an internal fuse. It's possible a short occurred when that XT connector broke and took out that fuse. The manual, either printed or online, should give more information. Unfortunately, I have no first hand information on your bike. Hopefully...

    xt 30 connector voltage

Welcome to the forum! The short answer is this: In general, the output voltage of a 36V lithium battery should be between 30 and 42V depending on the state of charge. On some batteries, the BMS puts the battery into "sleep mode" after a period of inactivity. In this state, the voltage will...

Removeing throttle to be compliant and responsible

How about a wireless throttle? This one is designed to look like a USB port. Maybe something like this could be modified to look like a handlebar bell, or a clip on design so you could quickly remove it and put it in your pocket...

Removeing throttle to be compliant and responsible

This raises an interesting question: Can a bike have cruise control and still be class 1? I haven't seen it mentioned in regulations for the states where I ride. When posing the question to AI, I got this response: AI Overview No, a Class 1 e-bike, which is pedal-assist only, cannot have a...

Removeing throttle to be compliant and responsible

I've been experimenting with this low profile thumb throttle. It's easily put on and removed in less than 30 seconds, with just one screw. The low profile design mounts right or left, takes up just a half inch of bar space, and allows the use of full length grips on both bar ends...

A Specialized LBS opened up near here last year. I stopped in and noticed they had no e-bikes on the floor. I asked a salesman and was rather rudely told they don't have any and never will. He went back to talking to his buddy's, who all looked at me like I was a freak. Guess I won't be going...

Removeing throttle to be compliant and responsible

Good point. My bikes have both cruise control and throttles. If enforcement gets more strict where I ride, I may remove the throttles, which I rarely use anyway.

It's tough to use the don't ask, don't tell policy when you wheel your bike through the hotel lobby. I suppose I would boycott hotels with in room bike bans as well, but I'm not too concerned about theft. I keep the bikes in the bed of my pickup: They are locked to the rack in 3 places and...
