Good Morning North America, Good Night Pacific!

I flew from Anchorage AK to Northeast PA yesterday, a 4 time zone jump. It's 8 AM local time but my body still thinks it's 4 AM. Tried to get some sleep on the plane but had little success. Supposed to meet for a group ride this morning, but I'm not sure I'll make it. 😴

Horn, Bell or Voice, how to warn others of your presence and intentions

Interesting. I sold my Varia since it alerted me to bikers coming up behind me less than half the time on the trail. Worked great for vehicles on road though, where I rarely ride.

Should I consider buying an ebike from a LBS that is located 6 hours away

The same it true with Pedego bikes, but you may not get the same service as those who bought there. I was actually told this by a dealer 3 hours from me. He said they would service the bike I bought from a dealer 6 hours away, but I would have to wait until all his local customers were taken...

Need Recommendation For A Lift To Work On Our Two Heavy Ebikes

The PRS 30 can be raised & lowered using a cordless drill: $900 is still cheaper than most electric lifts.

Does anyone suffer from battery range anxiety like people do with electric vehicles?

You'll notice I said IF. Apparently, you can't, but perhaps others can.

Does anyone suffer from battery range anxiety like people do with electric vehicles?

You can partially relieve range anxiety if you can arrange to ride uphill on the way out. That way, if you do have to pedal, it's easier to do going back down. If there is a low spot near the middle of the planned the route, I always try to start a ride there and ride up hill going out in both...

The Future of eBikes: How Fast is Too Fast?

A few of the kids I see on the trail would do a wheelstand on their Surron as they passed. Not much chance of catching him with a recumbent.

The Future of eBikes: How Fast is Too Fast?

I do the same. I even wave to spandexers. I don't care what others wear, it's what they do while wearing it that matters.

I suppose the torque rating on these small accessory screws is to prevent overtightening. I simply tighten until the handlebar accessory is firm and doesn't move easily. No sense tightening to the specified torque if it isn't necessary. Also, leaving these screws slightly under tightened can...

Not a tool, but I find them to be a very handy addition to my bikes: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DJ2LT53H?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 I use them to replace most of the Allen head screws holding brake levers, displays, throttles and any other handlebar accessories. That way, I can...

The Future of eBikes: How Fast is Too Fast?

I can deal with the occasional jerk. It's the "flash mob" of jerks that really bother me.

The Future of eBikes: How Fast is Too Fast?

Not every group. Just the ones who ride 2 abreast on a 12' wide trail at 20+ mph and scream at you to get out of their way. Happens from time to time on several trails I ride.

The Future of eBikes: How Fast is Too Fast?

Not all, just the organized groups that think they own the road / trail.

Yeah, that's an old picture. The small bulbs are LED's but the larger ones are old 48V, 100W marine incandescent bulbs my father used on his boat. 58V doesn't seem to bother them. I doubt you can buy them anymore. I have since modified the rig with more bulbs & sockets. The large ones are old...

    Solder to terminal block

The one I saw had a row of brass pins with rounded heads that fit the semi circular cutouts of the blades. The pins were coated with dielectric grease.

    Solder to terminal block

You don't. The mounts I've seen that use these connector plates are screwed in place to make the connection to lugs inside the mount. They are simply used as an easy way to replace the male section of the connector without soldering.

I also use incandescent bulbs for a discharge rig: I screw in as many bulbs as needed. As an added bonus, I have used the rig to light my workshop during a power outage. I use a twist timer as a safeguard against over discharging. The BMS in my batteries shuts down at 15%, but I don't like to...

    Solder to terminal block

IMO, this is the best approach and the way I do mine. It's also the way the maker of my bikes does it. Applying heat from a soldering iron to these connectors can be tricky. If the heat transfers to the female spring terminals, they can lose their temper and not grip the spade terminals on the...

+1 on the Park derailleur hanger alignment gauge. I use mine frequently. Not cheap, but I can get my derailleur shifting smooth as butter.
