That usually happens, when the rubber contact of the LCD is not connecting clean to the board. But they are cheap used, should not be more than 30€

WTH are you talking about? You need an update every other month? I use the first generation Nyon one for almost 9 years now and they still have an update in the queue. Totally fine if it receives an updated every other year or after 3 years.

No code needed. Just simple electronics. Don't need to have it connected to an app and all that crap. Just wanted to ride faster, not play with the phone. I know people cannot ride their bikes these days if it does not connect to their (Apple) phone. But that of course costs more.

If you are using only one battery, it does not matter in which place it is. Only for charging the batteries on the bike it makes a difference.

Does it do the same thing when you plug in the charger without the Nyon on the bike? Do both batteries turn on when you plug it in? And what happens if you turn it on pressing the button on any of the batteries (with the Nyon on the bike)?

Is your motor a 25km/h or 20Mph version? Here in the US the 20Mph are treated as S-Pedelecs when it comes to the route selection. Probably because they were Performance Speed motors reduced from 28Mph to 20Mph. Not Performance Cruise like the 25km/h versions. Even the Performance Sport doesn't...
