Can't seem to find the right combination of features

The review page on EBR seems to not be loading properly, but the Hi-Power HPC Freedom might fit the bill. Here is the youtube video: I am not sure if they are still selling it as the page on their own website does not have any info on it. But here is a dealer who has it listed...

Geared motor making noise when slowing down

We own two of the same ebike, and my wife's bike does not make the same noise and never has, although her bike has about 700 miles on it and my bike has over 2200. Also, I just had my motor repacked with grease and the noise did not go away. So I am still thinking that a new gear set might make...

Geared motor making noise when slowing down

I just went for a longer ride, and the noise was annoying, maybe especially so since I may now have a way to fix it. So I am going to have the ebike guy try the replacement gears and see if that does the trick.

Geared motor making noise when slowing down

So I got my bike back yesterday. It is much quieter overall, but it still makes a high whining noise when riding downhill and when the motor is still engaged. Because the gears were all intact, the guy who repacked the motor did not think it would be a problem. His best guess is that it is a...

    Boost speed

Or just ride downhill all of the time :)

Would there be interest in a forum topic dedicated to guest/user reviews?

Court has decided to move the brand and type categories back onto the main page of the forum. In addition, he has changed the "Discussion by Brand" category to be called "Discussion by Brand & User Reviews". This seems like a simple and effective way to make user reviews more visible on the...

    Lightweight AND affordable eBikes

I think it is great that you are pushing the envelope and bringing ebikes with different advantages such as lighter weight to the market. That could be a high priority for some buyers. For example, someone who has to carry their bike up several flights of stairs everyday, or someone who wants...

My Long Journey to a Comfortable Butt

My ultimate solution is moving to a recumbent. Here is a bike I found on Craigslist for $300: It has rear suspension and a nice thick but firm seat cushion. I already have added this sorbothane pad to it that is used by rowing enthusiasts: (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) The thin layer of...

Seat set up idea... looking for feedback

I wrote on here about my long journey to a comfortable butt: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/my-long-journey-to-a-comfortable-butt.3127/

    Water bottle cage for handlebar

I like this one that goes on the vertical part of my stem: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001CNAVCQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Here it is on my Magnum Ui5: I agree that having a bottle so handy means I drink more often.

    Magnetic pedals: A new approach

I have been thinking of trying clipless pedals especially for my new recumbent bike that I am going to add electric power to. But I have hesitated because of the trickiness of getting clipped in and also getting out. But I just heard about these new pedals that use a magnetic system to "attach"...

    Confusion Choosing a Second Ebike

Another option is this shock absorbing handlebar stem....probably easier to swap than a front fork: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/stafast-suspension-stem-review.2871/#post-35715

Would there be interest in a forum topic dedicated to guest/user reviews?

Yes. On the headphone site I mentioned above, a single headphone or amplifier might have 20 or more reviews from different users. It is quite amazing how different the reviews can be in their conclusions sometimes.

Geared motor making noise when slowing down

So I took my bike over to a local guy who converts KMX tricycles into e-trikes ( and who also created the 80 mph ebike shown in this post: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/feeling-the-need-for-speed-how-about-80-mph-on-an-ebike.10572/ ). He opened up my motor and found that the...

Good points! I also find the consistency of Court's format really helpful in quickly sorting through ebikes I might or might not be interested in.

Or maybe you could ask people to post the actual review in the brand section and then add a simple link in the review section that takes someone to the actual review over in the brand section? That way, any discussion that ensued would be all in one place.

Would there be interest in a forum topic dedicated to guest/user reviews?

Hi Court! It was great chatting with you. It could be a great idea if the bike reviews showed up in both the brand sections and in a dedicated bike reviews section....but I have no idea how complicated something like that would be to set up so it happened automagically. However, maybe that first...

Would there be interest in a forum topic dedicated to guest/user reviews?

Yes, I have seen a lot of, as you say, informal reviews on here, and those are also great. Over on that headphone site I linked to above, there are tons of posts offering reviews and sharing of users experiences in the general forum, but the site also has created the specific review section for...

Would there be interest in a forum topic dedicated to guest/user reviews?

I am especially interested in knowing if other people would also like to write reviews and post them on this forum. Is this something you might do? Would it just be for an ebike you own, or would you also occasionally review another ebike you got to try out?

    E-Glide's next bike - 500w Commuter

It seems like the quality of ebikes in this price range just keeps going up and up. That equipment list is much better than the Magnum Ui5 I bought a year ago after carefully researching what was available at the time.
