    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

Yep - exactly. Hot knife through butter. It's the best thing about this bike. I don't know a lot about rear cassettes and gear ratios on a bike. I just know what feels useful to me. On this bike - so far: 8th gear, all day long. Take that as a sample of one, from a guy that is 52, weighs...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

I'm keeping it. I'm not sure there is a "torque sensor issue" - or, if this configuration with a solo BB/hall sensor paired with a high torque motor just works differently and you need to learn how it works and use accordingly. It works well for me now that I've sorted out how the bike works...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

I’ve had more time to ride the LMT’D - still enjoying it. As I’ve posted, the bike has a learning curve - at my weight/cruising speed, it assists nicely on PAS level 3. Ride it at a higher PAS than your cruising speed and it will feel jumpy - as seen in my video. It's fun to bump PAS to 9 and...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

Quick update... 1) It turns out that whatever caused the speedometer to stop working also reset my PAS range to 0-5 - so PAS level 3 in my video was way more assist (and therefor jumpy) than I expected. My earlier post suggested going to PAS range 0-9 to refine the levels and the video...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

Quick update after a week. - I’ll post soon about the accessories I put on my LMT’D - My speedometer stopped working - I’ve reached out to R1Up - Not sure if it’s related to the speedometer, but I’m continuing to find that the torque sensor can‘t deliver continuous power on the flat surfaces...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

Asher - really helpful perspective. I appreciate it. Part of me posting my experience here was to see if my experience was "normal" and get feedback from others who have more experience than I do. It's a new bike and as you point out - R1Up's first cadence sensor...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

Asher - I wondered the same about the torque sensor being new to Ride1Up and potentially needing further tuning. I believe the motor’s power modulates (increase/decrease) with more torque or less input. I could see tuning the amount of motor output against the amount of pedal torque. In this...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

Ok - quick update on the torque sensor... I've seen a lot of people asking about this. I'm at about 40 miles on the bike. I mentioned in an earlier post that the LMT'D was incredible on hills: Nice, even, consistent motor engagement and level of assist - as I pedaled up hills. BUT on flats I...

    New LMT’d - who’s in?

That's awesome that you got to meet the Ride1Up founder - I was not kidding when I said you should have him sign your bike! As to getting up the driveway. I've found that my LMT'D has a LOT of motor torque. So much so that I literally leave it in the top gear all the time - mainly because I...

    New LMT’d - who’s in?

Brakes on the bike are really satisfying in the way they feel, engage and stop the bike. I agree regarding the tires. Fat Bike tires are a little over the top for me but I wanted a good size tire - this works. Not having to pay $1000 - $1300 for a replacement battery is nice....

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

Brake cleaner and acetone are very different. I meant to add in my post, if you use brake cleaner, do it in a well ventilated space... very toxic stuff as it contains Tetrachloroethylene. Far more effective at cleaning brakes than acetone. LMT'D decal angle is by design ;) Not a fan of brown...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

Right now I'm using 5 PAS levels setting. Each bump up is noticeable. Because (so far) I'm bumping up and down PAS levels as I experiment I have not tried the finer 1-9 yet. Stay tuned. Regarding torque sensor experience - as mentioned, this is my first eBike - so I can't give you points of...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

Day two: Yesterday I test-drove my new LMT'D as stock and then added a few accessories. My ability to compare this bike to other ebikes is limited, as it is my first ebike. I've never tried a cadence sensor bike, so a torque sensor is my "normal". I finished my last review/post saying that...

    Review: New LMT'D - new owner's perspective

I received my LMT'D on Monday. I'll post my experience here over time and answer any questions as I can. I'll start with my experience ordering/receiving and cover the assembly process. I'll add updates on what it's like to ride as I get out and use it. Quick background on me - because it...
