Battery % Readings - Is it really that hard?

Yes, that is one reason I lowered the "Low Battery Protect" in the controller to 39V. I should be able to run it down to 42V and still have a decent cushion.

Battery % Readings - Is it really that hard?

I share your frustration, I was thinking about this the other day trying to figure out what was going on with my Bafang displays. Now I understand why everybody says to use voltage! First, I made a new chart like the above but took into account the voltage drop: You can see the voltage is...

    Cassette Noob Queston

Given this philosophy, a pretty strong case could be made for the Box Prime 9 being an ideal setup--with the smaller physical stackup of the cassette, you can have a better chainline on each end of it and still have use of the full range of gearing.

How to start on a steep hill

Yes, on you. While I'm sure it would be great fun to spend my time and money on such trivial things as getting a proper video setup and posting videos, if/when I do that it certainly won't be to satisfy a troll on the internet. Since you made the initial claim of never needing a throttle, it's...

How to start on a steep hill

I agree with Gionnirocket, you need to try some tougher hills. I've made it up/through numerous places with my E06 that a bike without a throttle simply would have no chance of making. I too thought I'd never need a throttle and figured I might remove it from the bike when I got it...until I...

How to start on a steep hill

I've found, a bit easier than that, is making use of the freewheel in your crank. Click a gear, backpedal so the pedal on your side is to the rear of the bike, then lift the bike by the pedal. The rear wheel will spin and the gear will shift as soon as the rear wheel leaves the ground. Click...

Who is selling unbadged Frey bikes?

Which specific models are you talking about? I wasn't aware Dengfu made any aluminum frames or that Frey offered any carbon fiber bikes.

    Anything on Canbus protocol yet

I don't know if the tune has changed over the years, but some of the difference in opinions probably comes down to use/user desires. I think the stock programming on mine wouldn't have been bad for lots of road riding/commuting (acting much like a cadence sensor bike). But for my use/desires...

    Anything on Canbus protocol yet

I have no doubt the Archon X1 is fantastic and greatly improves the Ultra. However, a great many of the most common complaints of the stock Ultra programming have absolutely nothing to do with its sampling frequency. For years these things could be fixed (tuned to taste), greatly improving the...

    Anything on Canbus protocol yet

That's probably the best idea, but I wasn't planning on ordering anything yet (my Ultra luckily came UART). I try not to bother businesses unless I'm really ready to order something...I guess I'm too polite.

    Anything on Canbus protocol yet

An X1 controller is a possible solution. If they don't have something that fits a Canbus motor they surely will very soon. An easy right-now solution would be to simply swap the motor while they're still available in UART...

My Impression of the Luna Mighty Mini Display (Bafang 500C) on the Hydra

Thanks guys, to clarify I have the stock Ultra so the Eggrider and presumably the 500C will work. I've been using the Eggrider until now and while I love the functionality (detailed data logging, programming the motor with my phone, etc), it's not much of a "display" for me. I don't look at...

My Impression of the Luna Mighty Mini Display (Bafang 500C) on the Hydra

Does this display track Wh/mile of trips? I'm currently using Eggrider because I'm a data geek...but the form factor of this display looks to be much better.

Suspension Fork for Hydra Fat Bike

That article is really an aberration, virtually everybody who has used both that I know of prefers the Mastodon by a mile. It's suspicious this guy says he couldn't tell a difference when adjusting the compression dials--on both of mine, each click makes a very noticeable difference.

    Questions about the Hydra

Trek Rail? I'm working on designing a way to put one on my Dengfu E06. It might be wise, it might not. I'll let you all know if I break it!

New Biktrix Juggernaut Ultra Beast - Unable to Program - Display cable fitting is a different shape

Possibly dumb question, but isn't it just the controller that controls whether the motor is canbus or UART? If so, could people getting the new Ultras swap in a "new/old" controller? https://california-ebike.com/shop/bafang-g510-ultra-controller/ It's an extra cost, but compared with the...

    Dengfu E06

I will be, just haven't yet. I should have mentioned that--for people doing a lot of road use, I would NOT suggest the 36T chainring. With the 11T highest gear cassette, I can still pedal to beyond 30 MPH (which I figure is about enough for offroad, even gravel) but I'm really spinning the...

    Dengfu E06

Forgot to mention one thing: The Lekkie Buzz Bars are a no-go, even the "offset" version. I thought they would fit, they looked like they would fit, but after torquing one down completely I found it rubbed the chainstay. Not enough offset.

    Dengfu E06

Thanks guys. A few upgrades done, here's how she looks now: The big one, the Mastodon Pro. I ended up ordering a 100mm STD version since I actually found one in stock. I've set it up to 130mm EXT configuration. My quick measurements suggested the stock fork had 551 axle to crown (a spec...

Does it exist..??? A fat-tire bike (generally for sandy, or snowy roads) with the power of a serious e-MTB (apt for steep hills, off-roads) ..??

Speaking of rolling resistance, etc, I thought this was an interesting comparison between a fatbike and an XC racebike: No, it wasn't a perfectly controlled scientific measurement, but I thought it was a pretty interesting real-world comparison that may be helpful to those worried a fatbike...
