Average Cruising Speed on your e-bike

Please don't take this the wrong way, but honestly I'm not sure I'd feel safe on a bike like that over 20 MPH, much less 30.

What's it like to ride a fat bike?

Uhm, no. It's bouncy because you're running such high pressures. Higher pressures make the tires bouncier over bumps. If you're of a reasonable weight, there is absolutely no issue running in the 10 psi range, even really fast over rock-garden type terrain on a well set up fatbike. Now if...

Average Cruising Speed on your e-bike

You can easily do that on an E-bike. I think it would be a smart purchase for you. I would suggest a powerful Class 3 (or Class 3+) with a decent sized battery. You're in pretty good shape so accomplishing the above shouldn't be much of an issue for you. On my manual fatbike (also a fatbike...

Luna Apollo Bafang Ultra Motor programming question

Yeah, those settings are going to be pretty vicious. There are limitations to what you can do with the throttle--it's never going to be perfectly "gas pedal-like" when at full power--but it can be improved dramatically. While full power blasts can be fun with the throttle, I've found when I...

    Hydra Fatty Chain/Tire Rub Thread

OK, that makes sense and should make people feel better--with the chainring mounted to the outside and wheels 80mm or narrower, everything works. As a related aside, I've thought this issue may make the relatively obscure Prime 9 drivetrain: https://boxcomponents.com/collections/prime-9-filter...

    No, you need the magnet.

    Hydra Fatty Chain/Tire Rub Thread

I agree with the premise this shouldn't be frame related. If the motor and wheel are centered in the bike, I'm not sure how it could be. It should be an Ultra/197mm issue which is why it has me confused. On my E06 with 4.8's (Maxxis FBR) on 80mm I didn't have any issues either with the stock...

And so it begins - Hydra Fat Bike Build

Looks fantastic so far! Please post details on how you did that when you get a chance. A lot of us might want to try those tri spokes in the future. ;)

    ET Cycle T720/T1000 owners

That looks like a good choice for a less aggressive tire.

There aren't many choices, but here's a 26X3.8 if you need something better for trail use: https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/equipment/cycling-components/bike-tires/fat-bike-tires/bontrager-gnarwhal-fat-bike-tire/p/13271/?colorCode=black It's not the fastest rolling tire in the world, but...

All camoed up! I chickened out on painting it...I hate painting things and I'm bad at it. I figured throwing some stickers on was the better choice for me--if I don't like it I can just peel them off! I used two sets (lots of acreage to cover on this bike) of these...

The next big upgrade...wheels and tires! 27.5x80mm Carbon wheels with 27.5X4" Vanhelgas. I've been a big cheerleader for this tire size ever since I first tried it, but even I was shocked, and I mean shocked at the difference it made. I guess I had put enough miles on the 26x4.8's that...

The bike was a bit over $3K, but taxes/customs fees, etc + shipping added a bit over $900 so the bike as delivered was right at $4K. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002631576670.html?spm=a2g0o.store_pc_groupList.8148356.18.1dc42c13V2kyt2 If you say you want a custom color they can send a...

I put quite a few miles on it in its intended habitat: The bike exceeded all expectations. This thing covers rough ground FAST! I'm so glad I didn't opt for a hardtail--ground that feels really rough on a full suspension manual bike, becomes really, really rough when you're...

    Dengfu E06

Time for some long overdue updates. I'll try to keep these in order. I went ahead and added one: While it's intended to mount closer to the motor, with the nice internal cabling there isn't much space in front of the derailleur and since I'll be complicating things with a rack I decided to...

Beautiful bikes! That probably is a better solution. I was looking for those when ordering stuff but couldn't find any in stock. What size lower headset does this frame use?

Carbon Fat Bike Build: Dengfu E06 With Bafang Ultra.

Thanks, nothing complete yet but here's a preview of a small prototype chunk for fit check to give an idea what I'm doing: Got the wiring done and it works...but damn it's tight down there! Just a bit more space would have been appreciated, Dengfu! :p Here's a dumb question for you...

Suspension Fork for Hydra Fat Bike

I'm not sure where you got that. The Mastodon can handle a 27.5X4.5. To give some tire size perspective, it's the tire on the far left in this video: 29's are certainly no problem. The Mastodon is capable of 150mm travel in Standard mode, 140mm in EXT mode.
