Lectric XP 3.0 frames - Which Is Stronger?

I have a step-thru XP 3.0 and weigh 230ish and have ridden my wife on the back. We've gone down curbs, off road and other dumb stuff and the ebike/frame has held up fine. At 260 miles now. Only advantage to the step-over is its slightly easier to remove the battery. But I've gotten use to...

Do You Have Any Multi-Use Paths That Are Now Marked "No Bikes"?

We don't have the "No Bikes" marked on multi-use trails yet but I see it coming. I stay in the street but will hop on the sidewalk if needed to feel safer, and only for a minimum amount of time. Also, if I hop on the sidewalk and someone else in it I'll slow way down and give the pedestrian full...

    High Visibility & Reflective Socks

The velcro one goes on my right leg because I wear pants during the week and the slap one goes on my left leg if out after dark. The slap one was free from the Fairfax VA bicycle safety coalition. I've had it for almost 30 years! Still works great. I put them on my trunk bag handle when not in...

    High Visibility & Reflective Socks

I use those velcro pant leg bottom straps at night, on both legs. I have 1 velcro one and one slap on. Easy on/off and they are very reflective. I'll try to get a picture as I'm not near the bike right now.

    Lectric is running TV commercials!

I'm not big on TV so this is a first time for me. I don't have cable or any subscription based service, just a digital antenna for 68 free/over the air channels. To reach me as a viewer is a major accomplishment!

    Lectric is running TV commercials!

So I'm watching Face The Nation this morning out of the corner of my eye (playing a game on my computer was a bit more important) and I saw a commercial for the Lectric brand of ebikes. The slogan is "Be a kid again!" and it shows all the models being ridden by smiling faces. Makes me want to go...

New XP 3.0 folding step through - power bleed w/ switch off ?

I always leave my key turned ON when the battery is in the XP 3.0. The few times I've actually turned it OFF at the key with the battery installed in the ebike the dash will, briefly, turn on. I think it's just residual power or something. Doesn't matter for how long it's been turned off at the...

    Lectric One

Both of my Lectric batteries have a bit of voltage sag. So did my RadRunner. No big deal once you get used to it.

Holy FVCK !! Ebike Battery !!

That battery looks a bit like my XP battery! Note to self: NEVER take ebike battery on a elevator! Seriously, that was terrible. What's weird is I keep my XP battery in a fire "resistant" bag when out of the ebike. I now need to more of these bags for my other ebike batteries.

    Lectric One

Strange question, how do you miss a gear? I understand that under load it might get a little wonky (I recall my Nexus 5 speed getting weird if I shifted with weight on the bike) but missing a gear seems weird. Unless you mean not shifting, as in being way out of the Pinions cadence comfort zone...

Why such big, hard cotter pins for brake pads?

I've seen someone use a small zip tie in place of that cotter pin, ON A MOTORCYCLE! I still see this person from time to time so I guess the zip tie worked.

So what's the guess on the new Lectric ONE product coming March 12?

None, we want a full/detailed review! My main question is still: Do you have to stop pedaling to shift? How does it up shift under load? How does it down shift under load? I'm talking manual shifting. I vary my cadence to much to ever get a grip on auto shift, so my questions concern manual...

    Making my own ebike if....

Gone! Including most of my regular, or analog, bicycle stuff. I did keep the tools though. I must have put a Park Tools kid thru college by now!

    Making my own ebike if....

The re-purpose charity got back to me this morning. Off to the Jesus mall this coming Tuesday or Thursday. Gonna load the little pick-up truck with everything I don't need, let them dig thru it all.

Brakes got weak in the garage

If I spray Brakleen directly onto a caliper I follow it with a hot water rinse.

Brakes got weak in the garage

I use Brakleen from Wally World, the red can, to clean rotors and related parts. Spray it on a paper towel as its very hard to spray slow and not have it splash all over. Oh, and the red can is NON-flammable, the green can IS flammable. That makes no sense to me but I'm pointing it out because...

    Making my own ebike if....

So I decided to donate this Fairdale Taj 26" bmx bike. I've reached out to 3 different bicycle charities so far that re-purpose bicycles and none of them got back to me. I don't want to just give it to a complete stranger because I don't want them to flip it or, almost worst, expect me to fix it...

Straight (not angled) stem tube for Lectric XP 3.0 folding step through

Nice! My job is over run with FANUC robots, like everywhere you look you'll see the yellow arms swinging around. It's pretty cool. You learn a bit about PLC programming and basic service work just being around them. I might just pull the stem now and just wait for my DavidBrandNew order to...

Straight (not angled) stem tube for Lectric XP 3.0 folding step through

The FX stem uses a normal bmx sized stem, hence it comes with normal bmx style bars. I say "style" because I wouldn't go dirt jumping with them, they're mild steel not 4130. Fine for your ebike, not serious bmx riding. I'll dig around the garage and see what is missing from the FX assembly. I...

    Papers please!

Crazy! At least someone is trying to enforce a law. I have a feeling that this enforcement will just make the next generation of hop-up kits more stealth.
