Vado SL 5.0 versus Vado SL 2 6.0 Carbon - thoughts on upgrading

At some point, desire becomes indistinguishable from need. Doesn't seem to take much desire to get some of our members over the line. That was certainly the case with my SL purchase.

2025 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

You'll eventually come to look on these senior moments with a sense of humor. But keep them to yourself. Your wife will take them as further evidence that she's the one who should be making all the decisions.

    2025 Vuelta a Espana

Lesson learned: No more looking back when I'm ahead of my neighbor.

Possible to convert an Enviolo to a Rohloff?

May have been partly the carrot effect that several of us have observed, wherein greater speed (usually due to greater assist) leads to greater rider power output without conscious intent. Result: I usually get a better workout in SPORT than in OFF or ECO. In your case, the greater speed came...

Going to upgrade my rig for crossing Rocky mts on paved roads--would you comment plz?

Thanks for the fond memories of my MTB days in Marin in the mid-1980s. Lots of familiar places in that video. Probably lost a few neurons rattling my brains out down Mt. Tam descents on my rigid Stumpjumper.

    2025 Vuelta a Espana

Several highlight reels and one full replay later, still haven't seen Pedersen's final mintes in Stage 1. Would love to see how that failure to position evolved.

M-350 - no power to display

Try the subforum for your bike's manufacturer here: https://forums.electricbikereview.com/categories/discussion-by-brand-user-reviews.168/ To help us help you, provide as much info about the bike you actually have as possible — including make, model, year, type of assist, etc. Sure I'm not...

Going to upgrade my rig for crossing Rocky mts on paved roads--would you comment plz?

Agree, better to start with a deep dlve there and then come back with narrower questions relating to the ebike angle. One good resource: https://www.cyclingabout.com/ No ebike coverage last I looked, but most of the challenges you'll face on a trip like this won't be ebike-specific.

Going to upgrade my rig for crossing Rocky mts on paved roads--would you comment plz?

Many good questions, many of which only you will be able to answer from experience you gain before this ambitious trip. I recommend using the route planning side of the RideWithGPS cycling app to play with potential routes through the Rockies. You'll be able to see their elevation profiles and...

Vado SL 5.0 versus Vado SL 2 6.0 Carbon - thoughts on upgrading

Interested to see what you get back now that the SL 2's been out in the wild for several months. Meanwhile, some early SL 2 discussions in case you missed them... https://forums.electricbikereview.com/threads/vado-sl-2-alloy-version-released.57413/...

    2025 Vuelta a Espana

The last 50 km went smoothly, both racing- and broadcasting-wise. We were having a very rare morning thunderstorm when Peacock went dead. Nothing compared to a proper Colorado thunderstorm and little rain, so I doubt that was the cause. Good to see Philipsen back in form after his nasty TdF...

Turbo Tero X 6.0 Replacement Tail light

Came very close to doing the same thing on my Vado SL EQ. What does your local Specialized dealer have to offer?

    2025 Vuelta a Espana

Peacock live coverage is off to an inauspicious start. Woke up at 0600, came in at ~116 km to go, just before the 1st (?) KOM sprint. But there was no camera at the line and no word on who won it. A minute later, Peacock went down. Still down nearly an hour later. Oh well, at least I have this...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Went to my SL 1's official product page to check some specs. Still for sale at the full retail price I paid for my "new" 2022 model in September, 2024. All sizes available. Interesting that this bike's still at full price when so many other older Specialized models have been discounted. Maybe...

    2025 Vuelta a Espana

Thanks for pointing him out! Definely one to watch. He just squeaked out a sprint win in Stage 2 of the 2025 Deutschland Tour and came very close in the 3.5 km prologue TT. A very humble young man who seems to be having a hard time believing his own success.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Reserving 20+20 = 40% of a 320W ebike battery in the name of battery service life is a pretty big ask. I probably average closer to 90% max charge but go to 100% the night before rides likely to eat a lot of battery. I do this mostly to stay out of the 0-20% range. Which raises the question —...

    2025 Vuelta a Espana

Have never bet on any sport. But under the bad influence of my sports-betting neighbor, and with his help, put down very small bets on O'Connor and Ciccone to make the Vuelta podium. Having no expectation of winning money, I view the total bet — which wouldn't even buy another copy of my bottle...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

Please tell your aunt she's my new hero. Recently did around 3,000 ft in 30 mi on my Vado SL 1 at 77 yo. Used 73% of my 320 Wh battery and still came home totally whipped. I'm sure her bike+rider weight was considerably less than my 104 kg, but still...

2022 Vado 4.0 SL - Future Shock upgrade?

Welcome aboard! Hope you get it to work. My 2022 SL 5.0 came with the spring-only Future Shock 1.0 1.5 — with tubeless tires at 35-40 psi, all the suspension I need in my road+gravel terrain. Would have to ride them side-by-side to know what the damping in higher Future Shock versions really adds.
