Carbon flat bar - Tesoro Vado Skitch?

True with BES2, not true with BES3 (Smart System). The Bosch eBike Flow app allows tuning of assistance and dynamics. Maybe not to the level of Specialized, but I don't have a Specialized to compare it to. TQ does this. The Pinarello only has the system controller display on the bike, but will...

    “No e-bikes allowed”

It's going to get worse. Hotels don't like analog bikes much less e-bikes. For your trip, I'd find friendly charging places like bike shops and have more than one option per stop. Your whole trip could be a drag if you're stuck dead in Nowheresville where they hate pedal bikes of any kind.

Temporary power outages and motor noise

Check the solder joints on the third triple on the right as we see the pictures. The exposed leads are longer and may have been stressed. That's all I got.

2025 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Today I refitted the Tesoro with the OEM stem and a loaner saddle, set to the dimensions from my fit. The bar to saddle BRP setting was about 1cm too short, even with the saddle all the way back. I could try a seatpost with more setback, but I didn't want to give up the eeSilk+. We shall see. I...

Carbon flat bar - Tesoro Vado Skitch?

Bosch's electronics are what I would call "quasi-open". They are not truly open because they do not (currently) support open standards like Bluetooth BLE and ANT+ LEV which allow connection to a multitude of aftermarket devices. Where the Bosch system is weakest IMO is in navigation. You have to...

Carbon flat bar - Tesoro Vado Skitch?

I haven't seen or ridden one yet. The Bosch Performance Line Sprint has more power and torque than the HPR50, but even with the CompactTube 400, weighs a few pounds more. It's used on several gravel bikes like the Canyon ON:Fly.

Carbon flat bar - Tesoro Vado Skitch?

I own a Cannondale Tesoro Neo X Speed. It is big and heavy, sort of a cross between a commuter bike and a mountain bike, and has a fairly aggressive fit. It is a true Class 3 bike in the US market, not sure about Canada, and thus is very fast. The Bosch Performance Speed drive unit has way more...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

I can't stand the Kennedy's, but JFK created the Cape Cod National Seashore. If he didn't, it would look like Miami. I will always be grateful for that.

    Hello from Md

    Welcome to the forum.

    Servicing the Shimano M360 derailleur.

We use an Amsoil rust blaster spray to clean up old cables and housings, but it's a band aid. New ones are the right solution. I also use the plastic cable ends with them. They will help keep water and grit out of the housing.

    New X-Peak

Right now I'm riding a Cannondale Tesoro with a Topeak rack. I've only had about 10 pounds in it, with two large bottles and an Abus lock. No wiggle at all, but I don't ride no hands, and mine is a hardtail.

Electronic shifting on Turbo Vado 5.0 (not SL)

I've owned, ridden, and raced with Di2 from the original 7970 10 speed version to the 9150 11 speed version. IMO, it's a superior system to mechanical and I don't enjoy riding as much without it. Does it make me a better rider? No.

    New X-Peak

PCE's bike has a full suspension frame. I'd look there first. Disconnect the rear shock and check the pivot bushings for play.

    Servicing the Shimano M360 derailleur.

Your inner wire and housing are more likely to cause this. A good quality cable set that uses lined housings, coated cables, and cable ends usually makes a big difference.

    Servicing the Shimano M360 derailleur.

There's really nothing to periodically service on a mechanical rear derailleur unless you ride in mud and grit all the time. The guide wheels will wear (the ones in the picture look shot to me) and can be replaced, but I would check the hinge pin play and spring tension first. Replacing one part...
