Knackered. See my post yesterday. Last mountain stage. Race wrapped up. Exhausted. Wet. Didn't feel like it. Which incidentally makes me wonder why Jonas didn't attack and attack and attack to see if he'd finally crack. Even dropping him today although wouldn't make up the time on him, it could...

Wet ending there. Roglic collapsed, only caught ending so didn't see if it was a crash. Onley fails to gain on Lipo. Shows why I'm not a DS thought he looked pale and worn out at finish yesterday but Onley cracked first. Still 4th is an amazing result. 36th last year on first tour. Can PicnicNL...

They are coming to the end of the toughest race on the planet. And a particularly gruelling contest this year. Getting sick, dropping out is a habitual risk when riders bodies are abused this way. They are all on the edge by this point.

But why when a podium position is at stake. Why attack?

a very brief review of a new bike (scott addict rc eride)

Hop over to this other thread. Yako a member is testing/reviewing the Canyon Endurace ON. He's only had a couple of rides on the bike but zero problems riding it unassisted or over the cut off. He's got it for 2 months from Canyon & will be fully reviewing it on his YT channel...

Got my days wrong earlier in the week. One more big mountain stage to go. Possible bad news for Healy's 9th place on GC. Rodriguez was behind him but didn't start this morning. Possibly ill? Now he has a jubilant O'Connor breathing down his neck. Conversely a potential good day for Onley to...

Oscar Onley what a ride! Only 21 seconds off a podium spot.

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

I'm still really scratching my head about this notion. It makes no sense! My jaw will hit the floor if it's confirmed TQ have released a lightweight motor system you cannot run unassisted. It would be downright ridiculous for TQ & Canyon to release a road bike where you cannot ride it with...

It was a flat finish so the riders around them are heavier and more powerful and they wouldn't have been able to get away. Again think of weight divisions in boxing. And yes riders like Pog are so rare because they can win in different divisions. Today the stage was immaterial to the GC riders...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

That sounds great! I'm not actually the one with a TQ 50 that must be someone else. But the low weight and 40nm of this motor plus Canyon's pricing is sounding very attractive. I'm looking forward to how you find it on the hills, especially 15-20% ones (as that's what I ride), how it compares to...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

Somebody here had contacted TQ who weirdly said that it was not meant to be ridden with the motor off. It sounds like a language/communication misunderstanding from TQ, otherwise it would be a bit bizarre. But great to hear it's all fine from someone who has ridden the bike. Looking forward to...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

It has to be a mistake in communication. No mid drive for road bikes would be stupid enough to not let you ride unassisted.

Hasn't ridden it yet that'll be next part. Here he's going through each part.

Here's an unboxing & part 1 of what will be a long term review of the Canyon Endurace ON fly. Yako Rides is a normal bloke living in Catalonia who records his mountainous rides on his Orbea Gain and occasionally gets sent other Orbea and BH bikes to ride and review. Just got sent the Canyon...

He's not a GC rider because he's too big boned and muscular to stay with the lightweights on these 10, 20km climbs. Like in a different weight division in boxing. The fading is illness not his riding style and just unlucky. Does explain his lack of characteristic explosive riding in earlier...

Loved how he tries to get rid of riders one by one on the road. Imagine looking in yer rear view mirror and there's Healy with that dogged lip sided hunched pedal stroke clawing back the meters! That skinny Paret-Pientre (never heard of him!) was not letting go! Bravo to him. Bet by the end...

Healy fantastic again. Not sure he could have done better in that sprint. If he'd waited another 50 metres before jumping he might have clinched it but hard to say, that skinny French rider was tenacious! Excellent stage on the old mountain. Good to see Alaphilippe on the attack.

6 month report on my Cairn BRAVe

Ha thanks. It's a lot of fun. No the top tube bag is just a little bolt on one for odds and ends. I've got a couple of spare tubes in there. Buying the bike second hand one of the oddities that the original owner did was set up the rear tyre tubeless but leave the front with an inner tube! So as...

Over in Ireland now & lashing rain all day so was able to watch the whole stage from start on Irish language TV (in Irish,) weird stage. They rarely cut back to peloton and it looked like a tacit agreement by Visma and UAE to have a quiet day - I'm assuming after the hellish last four days. Lot...
