    Folding e-bike for small airplane

EUCs are a very real thing. I’d get one, but can’t justify it. You know airplanes won’t allow batteries larger that 99wh?

Upgraded my 700xr with a new controller. :)

Chiming in again after 3 years. I’ve learned so much since then. I’ve learned that the motor is a Shengyi DGW22. The battery uses 35E cells in a Rhino IR-5 case. Requesting 30A from this pack is too much. Thats over 2C for each P group. 27 is the max amperage. Anything more and you will be...

I am looking to replace my disk brakes

I have Tektro hydraulic brakes on my bike. They work great. I’m not sure what model I have though. I think these are them. Your clarkes have a square olive so you’ll have to replace the olive, or use new hoses. You might be able to find a complete “kit” that come with new hoses, though.

    bosch to Bafang

Found this site here. They have many motors. View the motor model that you are looking at and take the quiz. Go through the motions and you see a template that you can print out. Do that to check fitment. Then buy that EXACT model where ever you like. Other seller sites may have something...

    “No e-bikes allowed”

There was another thread, I think here, that showed how to do it. No clue where the thread was though.

Hello from FL and an Addmotor owner

$175 isn’t bad. Testing and isolating is the most time consuming part of fixing an issue. Could take hours or days (if it’s one of those, “every now and again such and such happens”). The intermittent trouble can be hardest to find because, first youll have to replicate the issue. Finding and...

Where do you keep your bike?

Here I go thinking too hard about a simple thing. Lol

Where do you keep your bike?

I see lots of people using that method. I should adopt that. :) I guess my issue is that now that the timer has expired the charger is still plugged into the battery. I guess I shouldn’t be too concerned if something happened to the charger, it would affect the charging port.

Where do you keep your bike?

That’s tricky for me. I like to periodically check on the battery while charging. I guess maybe I should just charge them in the garage and set a timer to check on them. Sometimes I think too much about stuff and it gets in the way of the other s*it I have to do.

Where do you keep your bike?

I love Amsterdam. I love the food. I mean, it’s a very diverse selection. I’d love to move there when I retire, but that’s too far to be from family here. It’s a hard decision. Thanks for sharing the photos. The bike culture was one of the things I liked. They are everywhere. Very easy to get...

Hello from FL and an Addmotor owner

That’s the problem. Not many people are willing to do this work. It’s not like you just swap it out. A new BMS may have a different interface (towards the battery series cells) and you may need to solder in a new 14 wire harness. Then you have to resolder the charging and discharging leads. Of...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

Oh yea. They both had helmets. I thought that was cool. Helmets look good with bikes. It’s odd when I see one without the other, but sometimes there is good reason. Most people I’ve seen on a 20” fat tire bike like that was 3. Only the rider had a helmet. My kid rides a radrunner. I noticed...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

I saw a kid, on a Radrunner, pedaling with all his efforts up a hill. He had a girl on the rear seat. They were all smiles while I passed them. So they were having fun with it. Well, she was anyway. lol. I can only imagine he learned that even though his battery gauge showed 2, of 5 bars, that...

Hello from FL and an Addmotor owner

It’s a Battery Management System. It’s responsible for monitoring the battery pack. If low voltage is registered, the BMS will shut the pack down. Which is what I suspect may have happened. The BMS will (should) also manage cell balancing while charging, could monitor temp (if built for that)...

Hello from FL and an Addmotor owner

I agree that selling it as is and buying a new ebike is a good choice. Im sure you’ll disclose the faulty battery when you list it. 😀 Seems like a BMS issue. Someone might be able to fix the issue.

I read that thread. Wow. Thats quite an escapade. Glad you didn’t get hurt on that thing. It’s awesome that the dealer is advocating for you and working the phones/emails.

My DIY builds: GMAC, BBSHD, 9C RH212, CYC Photon, ToSeven DM01, Grin All Axle

Right on! Yea, I’ve seen that video. As well as numerous others. That bike pulls hard. Micha (EbikeSchool) has a good video detailing how to wire a single throttle to 2 controllers. I have a dual 23A BrainPower controller system that I’ll install. It came with a display too. I’ll set the...

    Water Bottles

Truth! I can’t tell you how many times I went to a neighbors yard (back when neighbors didn’t mind) to hose off my elbow after I fell in the street. Us kids all played flag football on a loose gravel street.
