    Need Saddle Advice!

Went to my local bike shop and had my sit bones measured. 140mm and the measurement tool said I need a 155mm saddle. I purchased a Selle TRK in large as it was 160mm. Due to heavy forest fire smoke, will wait a couple of days to give it a try. (It was the only saddle in stock from Selle). If...

    Need Saddle Advice!

Two or three great sounding saddles to try. I need to find my sit bones template to make sure I am ordering the correct width.

    Need Saddle Advice!

I started out with the saddle that came with my ebike. (E bike selection was a 2 day process visiting several bike shops). The saddle that came with the bike was an hour and a half saddle. I spent a bunch of bucks ordering 6 saddles from Amazon and there was a definite relationship between...

    Need Saddle Advice!

Agree with suspension post. Live in a very small town. Most of our purchases come from Amazon as the closest city is 3 hours away. That is the biggest reason I asked here. I am in the process of modifying the seating position to a more forward leaning one. I am an old gravel biker that is...

    Need Saddle Advice!

The wife and I are prepping for an e bike ride from Astoria OR to Larkspur CA. It will be a lightweight trip with plenty of pre arranged hotel/motel stays. The bikes are ready and spare batteries, chargers, tools, spares, etc. are all prepped. My biggest worry is sitting in the saddle for 4-6...

Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

When I was bike shopping I looked at a bike from Canada with an Enviolo rear axle but chose the Rohloff simply on the recommendation of a friend that does a lot of bike touring. It has had zero issues as long as the oil is changed as specified.

Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

I have a pedal only Salsa Via (hardtail mtb) that weighs about 30lbs. Am going to power it with a e-bike kit an 18lb add.

Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

Actually it is more of a weight issue. The bike has performed perfectly. My only issue is loading the 85lb+ bike on a bike rack.

    E-Gravel Bike…Looking for Advice

I wonder if there are any light weight frames out there that are made for an M620?

    E-Gravel Bike…Looking for Advice

Not sure what is offered now but the unit I purchased came with a Gates Belt and a manual shifting Rohloff axle. I understand that has changed in the 2025 model.

    E-Gravel Bike…Looking for Advice

If I remember correctly I only changed the rear sprocket from a 22 to a 20. Now I can easily keep up with my wife on the road as she averages about 18mph on her Aventon rocket and it did not affect the hill climbing as I rarely get below 5th gear and most of my riding is in 11. I really like...

    E-Gravel Bike…Looking for Advice

Thanks for the morning laughs. Weather prediction for up here is several days in the 70 degree F weather. Once all the Memorial Day tourists go home, we will do a 40 miler just to see how long it takes before we get saddle sore. Luckily most of the ride is just rolling hills and relatively flat.

    E-Gravel Bike…Looking for Advice

I took out a couple of triangles and measured the meter against them. Both the 30 and 45 degree angles matched the meter. I also went back and remeasured the road. The hill averages between 15 and 17 degree climb.

    E-Gravel Bike…Looking for Advice

The only thing I had to fabricate is the mount for the light. I found a generic one on Amazon and modified it. The light is pretty dim but serviceable. I did take the bike out yesterday and actually had a nice ride into town. I think I will hang on to it. Maybe still hunt around for a...

    E-Gravel Bike…Looking for Advice

That is the bike minus the front basket, minus the front fender (knobby tires rubbed no mater what I did), with a different riser and mountain bike handlebars (much straighter) also with a better seat post.

    E-Gravel Bike…Looking for Advice

I took out my new handy dandy grade measuring tool and found the steepest (that I know of) hill to only be 17 degrees and it is only about 100 yards long. On my regular bike it is definitely a granny gear requirement. I havent tried itwith my e-bike yet as it is about an auto hour from my house...

    E-Gravel Bike…Looking for Advice

That is a very well thoughtful writeup. When we were shopping for an e-bike for my wife we took a look at Aventon bikes. She tried the fat tire bike and as she is only 5’2” she felt overwhelmed. She did like one of the step through bikes and rides it regularly. I also tried the fat tire bike...

    E-Gravel Bike…Looking for Advice

Wh When we ride longer trips it is usually on a semi finished surface. For example a well traveled dirt road or a rails to trails type surface. The trailer will not be used on single track or rough surfaces…we like the dogs too much. Ok, then I guess I am looking for that second bike now.
