    The transition

I was so enthusiastic about and ready to buy an EV until I got one for a loaner for two weeks while my car was getting a warrantee repair. The EV itself, a Hyundai Kona, was a really nice car, fun as hell to drive. It doesn’t weigh much and has the usual ton of EV torque so it would chirp its...

2023 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Holy cow, that Norco is some piece of equipment! But “wait for slightly colder temps”? In Alberta? Not something I find myself saying too often 😎 That said, it’s been way too warm around here and was pushing 50 today (10 Celsius up there on the wrong side of the border). Given that, I was...

    Creo at 5000 miles

Thanks Joe! Hope to get a few more anyway, partly so I can get back down to Charlotte and ride some more of the Greenway system down there. How’s the infrastructure in the Triangle?

    Creo at 5000 miles

No dramatic scenery today, just the Mohawk River on a rainy 40 degree December 2nd. But I got to 5000 miles on my aluminum Creo before the weather tries to shut us down tomorrow, so that’s one more checked off the 2023 To Do list. I bought this thing in April of last year, 2022, and it has been...

    Used Crosscore RC

Suppose the seller doesn’t have the key to the battery either, right? Given the surroundings, I wouldn’t go near this thing.

a very brief review of a new bike (scott addict rc eride)

How’s the whole feel of the hub motor vs the mid drive going? I assume this thing is torque sensing as opposed to cadence?

    trials and tribulations

Mark, I’m so sorry you’re having this adventure. Just read your latest about your new Scott bike, which we’ll discuss over there. Chalk me up as another hater of indoor riding of any kind. Once winter shuts us down, that’s what all these guitars are for! Any time we get over 35 degrees and the...

On a family visit trip down to Charlotte, NC… of course the Creo came with me. Took at very nice ride on a brand new section of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway trail that runs right down into South Carolina. Extremely attractive system, some very nice bridges along the creek here and there. Hope...

There’s that good looking Trance, or Stance, or whatever it is… really nice bike

    Logs

Over at the Reddit Gravelcycling discussion they’ve been having a pretty good time posting pics of bikes with logs, for some reason. Why not drop a few here? I’m sure some of you PNW folks know what a tree looks like, fallen or otherwise.

Man, you guys keep some immaculate fat bikes! Beauties, both of them.

Cooler, more Fall like day today, around 50 farenheit, cloudy. Friend and I rode the Warren County Bikeway, a very popular paved trail in the Lake George area of NY. Poor color this year around here! By now things should be peaking and the whole mountain ridge along LG village is still green...

    specialized creo 2

<<Is this a good thing or a bad thing>> Good thing! Don’t want a carbon bike, my current Creo (and virtually every other bike I’ve owned in the last thirty years or so) has been alloy, and I’m just used to it. Less cost is fine, too. Really, while I like this new version, I might have a hard...

Just a few pictures from a superb riding day in Washington County, NY, just along the Vermont state line… probably my favorite area to ride. I had my Creo, Chris was on his acoustic Scott mountain bike, and we had a terrific day. Temps topped out at 78 degrees on October 2!

Very interesting re the alloy frame reference. That would definitely get my attention.

Best eBike Rack for Tesla Model 3

1UpUSA is just about always the answer to this one. Thule has some excellent stuff too, but I don’t know how you can beat the 1Up for overall quality, ease of use and design. Edit: Possibly issue with the back fender and that taillight. Someone here will be able to address that aspect of it...

Today was supposed to be new Creo announcement day!

Apparently the geometry has changed up a bit as well, along with more adventure oriented gearing, 11-50 and such on the cassette. They are really stepping back from the road centric thing and going all gravel. Certainly appeals to me, as I go from tarmac to dirt/gravel all the time.

Today was supposed to be new Creo announcement day!

OK, pretty compelling given even the base one is carbon and comes with etap shifting, along with the obvious motor stuff. Nice range of gears too, it’s funny how it has really transitioned to a gravel bike. My 2022 Creo SL E5 started life with the road configuration and quickly found itself with...

And re the electrical tape discussion, I always have a strip a couple of feet long stuck to the underside of my top tube. It’s proven helpful more times than I can remember.
