Seems to me that education is missing. Fear of ebikes is irrational when I get passed by acoustic bikes going 30 mph. Education, education, education.

As long as the sign says bicycles allowed, I ride the trail. I dont pay attention to the motorized sign, it applies to petrol driven motorcycles and/or derivatives.

I am curious about your opinions. California has many fires and air quality index is 58 in San Francisco today. New Delhi is often more than 100. Do you pay attention to the air quality and whether you should bicycle or not?

I ride my class 3 ebike anywhere I want in Northern California and no one has ever said anything. I think that no one will ask any questions unless you are running over people.
