Throttle ? Yes or no ?

I couldn't agree more with this statement ... I wouldn't give up the natural ride of my torque based Bosch motor just to get a throttle. That said, I have been told there are some torque based hub drives with throttles that have a natural feeling ride. I would like to try one some time. The two...

    Dead Kiox?????

Glad you got your Kiox back in operation with no major failures. Back when the original 1GB Nyons were available on eBay, I bought a second Nyon as a spare just in case the first one fails. So far the only problem I have had with the Nyon is that the plastic trim ring that covers the edge broke...

Trying to decide which TRIKE to get

For protecting the trike from the elements, you could use a large gas grill cover. These are available pretty cheap on Amazon. If you can't find a gas grill cover larger enough to fit your trike, you could look at motorcycle covers. You should remove the batteries before you put on the cover...

    Ok: 'Fess up.

No turkey for me! I can't even stand the smell of it cooking. I learned to hate the damned beasts as a teen when I worked part time on a turkey farm...filthy disgusting animals. Ok ... that is my disclaimer ... I actually wish I liked turkey as it is healthy protein, but because of my distaste...

Installing a completely different type of battery on Evelo Compass

My wife's Evelo Compass has dual batteries. She usually uses them the way you suggest, just turning one on at a time. However, both batteries on the dual battery Compass can be turned on at the same time. The management system is supposed to be smart enough to switch automatically when one runs...

Anybody Hit A Deer While on Their eBike ...

Help with a new Ebike purchase

The only advice I can give is if you have any local bike shops that sell ebikes, try to test ride as many as you can. It will help you decide what things you like and don't like so you know what to look for. In my case, I found that the natural feel of the torque sensing Bosch motor was the most...

    C9 Saddle Rails Too Wide.....

The reason I mentioned the clamp in my post above is that it attaches the rails at the sides rather than the top/bottom. So as you tighten the nut, it would pull the rails together. I found a reference somewhere (don't remember where) that the standard rail distance center to center is 44 mm...

... not worrying about whether I can make it back up that hill I just rode down.

    How fast are people riding?

"Wear a helmet" is right whether going fast or not. Here is a recent local story of an ebike rider who might still be riding if he had been wearing a helmet. https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/2020/11/11/tiffin-man-dies-sunday-after-losing-control-electric-bike-police-say/6253864002/

    Bike To Bike Communication

Sena has finally released a firmware update for the R1 Evo helmet. I am not sure when it was released, but I discovered it last week when I plugged one of my R1 Evo helmets into my computer. The new version is 1.0.2. I have the original Sena R1 Evo helmets with the speakers in the helmet rather...

Ebike makers: winners and losers in 5-7 years?

Ha Ha! I had to Google MVP (I am not a sports fan). Turns out it has 2 common meanings, the other being "Minimum Viable Product". That could generate some interesting conversation as well. ;)

    Winter storage

This is a timely question for me. In past winters I have stored my batteries in a closet inside the house. We keep our house in the 70-72 F degree range. I have a heated garage that I keep in the 52-58 F degree range. I have I nice steel cabinet in the garage that I could store them in and in...

    Belt Drive and Enviola Drive on a T 10 + ?

Does it really come with the Purion display? I would think a Gazelle of this class should have a Nyon or at least a Kiox. I hope Gazelle at least offers an option for a display upgrade.

    I voted!

I received my ballot on Oct. 6, filled it in and mailed it on Oct. 7. Used my state ballot tracking system to verify it was received on Oct. 9. I'm glad it is done and happy I didn't have to stand in line for hours.
