    Best bike seat?

Another vote for a Cloud 9 here. I have a roadie history and always thought I'd dislike riding on what is effectively a pillow. But on my full sus emtb, I love being able to bomb down trails sitting down much of the time - coupled with a dropper post, I can get the bulky seat out of my way...

For sale or trade 2019 Juggernaut Classic Hd

Yeah, definitely see if you can make some changes - the alternative is a lot more $. Have you contacted Roshan to see if he'd be willing to sell on consignment? Pretty sure some customer might like a nice, nearly-new hardtail at a discount. In exchange, you could order a full sus Ultra from him.

There's no comparison with a good full suspension vs a hardtail unless you're just a pavement/packed trail warrior. Tires only make a modest difference.

Is It Just Me Or Has 2018 Been the Worst Weather Year Ever For Cycling?

California has been glorious this year. Still in the high 70s/low 80s. Didn't get too hot this year. Rains were near normal. Only problem is too many people. I'm lucky and live in a virtual oasis in SF Bay Area next to a major State park and regional trail system literally at my back door...

    Evelo Aurora 750W

Interesting to see they will be shipping from Taiwan. I'm sure Taiwan is loving all the new biz going their way. Now it makes sense why they used a chain on the 750w Bafang mid drive. I'd much rather have the bigger motor - the chain is no big deal - a quick link makes it a lot easier to deal...

New here from Tucson - Delta Xpectations?

Should be simple to assemble. Probably just need to install handlebars, front wheel, seat and pedals. Will likely take you longer to remove from box and packaging. Be careful when cutting zip ties. Charging should take a few hours - no idea why it would take 12 hours - even a completely...

Ultra newb looking for first ebike

Check out the Evelo Aurora Fully Loaded version with Nuvinci Harmony for automatic shifting. Don't think a fat tire single speed exists (nor any reason why one should). How about Juiceds new Scrambler? While it has gears, I think it's really just an excuse to market a scooter to get around...

    Used bike advice

Only 33% discount on a 3-4 year old bike? I wouldn't touch it at that price considering how much has changed in the bike space (bigger batteries, better motors, more integrated designs). At least 50% discount is needed and probably more.

    e-bike hatred.. I've found it

I think attitudes are fast changing. A few years ago, LBS around me rarely carried ebikes. Now, they all do - even tiny shops are selling no-name Chinese emtbs that are affordable for those without deep pockets. As such, it's not just the 40+ crowd riding expensive emtbs. Helps that lots...

    eProdigy's secret sauce?

Eprodigy is a tiny company. Haibike is one of the biggest. That's the difference. And eprodigy's design is shambolic with cable management near the motor. Nor are their frames going to win any aesthetic awards with clunky downtube battery and inelegant motor placement. Typical Chinese...

    Evelo Aurora 750W

Ah, thought you'd like it. It's a stoutly built frame - add that 750w motor and NuVinci Harmony electronic shifting, and it's a sweetheart of a ride.

    Newly joined from OC

I wouldn't worry too much about batteries. Everyone should know not to buy cheapo Chinese no-name batteries (which are usually recycled and falsely repackaged as "new"). Most reputable batteries are designed to last ~1000 full discharge/recharge cycles - easily offering many thousands of...

    Martha Stewart gets Pedego Interceptors

Does Martha actually ride it? Buying it and having one of her groundskeepers assemble the bike sure seems a bit unusual for buying it in your shop. Doesn't seem kosher. Good to hear Bill rides his regularly.

Many Tariffs likely to end by Q2 2019

China has been "officially" reporting ~7% growth for many years - but the number is pure fiction - nobody believes it - just a nice round number they like to throw out.

    Galaxy TT review

No, didn't bleed the line. If I recall, the brake line was just long enough to flip over end of the fork to unwrap (it was wrapped the wrong way around the fork so the handlebars couldn't rotate freely. Honestly, have no idea how anyone could install it like that). There is a bracket holding...

Many Tariffs likely to end by Q2 2019

Little chance China will blink. They have massive account surpluses (vs the US massive debt/deficits - ballooning to over $1T this year under Trump's tax cuts for the rich) and just set a record trade surplus with the US despite The Orange Blowhard's rhetoric. They've always been willing to...

    Galaxy TT review

Two right cranks? My wife's bike had front brake line mis-routed (twisted wrong direction around the front fork), so it's disappointing to see another poor assembly. At least I was able to reroute the brake line fairly quickly by myself. Since it's so easy to shift with the Harmony (even...

    Galaxy TT review

I think you'll like the Aurora. My wife really likes hers. The chain is a lot easier to maintain/change and its hard to hear anything above the road noise. Fwiw, she previously bought a more expensive 250w Bosch powered step-thru with conventional shifting, but much prefers the ease of...
