Looking at the Rize RX for a commute bike, have questions

I have the current version of the RX (2022) and love it. Got it Jan. ‘22 and put about 2,500 miles on it this past year. Here in WI, In Utah, Oregon, NM and MO. Riding up Jeep trails in the Rockies makes you feel like you are on a funicular train- it just keeps pulling. It has plenty of battery...

    2022 Rize RX geometry

You’ll want to keep in mind that the 4” adjustable stem will change both stack and reach significantly. To put it into extreme examples: at 0 degrees reach will be extended by 4” and at 90, stack raised by the same amount. Been riding bikes almost 60 years and I think just 2 static measurements...

    2022 Rize RX geometry

I own a ‘22 RX and love it. I am about 6’ tall with long arms and I think the bike frame will fit you fine. Any bigger and the thing would get pretty cumbersome on any trail. I am no bike mechanic, but I did some measurements on my bike and here is what I get: Head tube- 6” Top tube- 23” Down...

    RX 3rd Party Batteries?

As the weather finally starts to warm where I am, I am venturing on longer rides and thinking of road trips to even better biking. Like many of you, this leads me, inevitably, to range anxiety/frustration. A replacement primary or secondary battery for my 52v Rize RX (2022) runs about $600.00...

Thoughts on my Rize RX (2022 model)

Have you replaced brake pads yet? If so, any recommendations on brand or type to get?

Thoughts on my Rize RX (2022 model)

My bike does not have the UART connector. I ride mostly in PAS1 and do not find the acceleration to be jolly at all. Torque sensor is pretty smooth, but not as much as some more expensive models. It seems a bit less organic than my previous ebike, a Trek Powerfly 5. Now, to put that in...

    2022 Rize Models - Thoughts/Comments/Experiences From Owners

I think it VERY important to be mindful of what gear you’re in with the motor on the RX. Starting in a high gear (small cog on cassette) is very hard on the driveline. You are putting a ton of torque on chain and cassette. That’s how chains get snapped and gears prematurely worn.

Thoughts on my Rize RX (2022 model)

From reading posts from much more knowledgeable folk, like you, i thought the Ultra motor on my bike could not be tinkered with. Not true? If it can be altered, I’d be very interested in something like that Frey “smooth” mod I’ve read about here…

Thoughts on my Rize RX (2022 model)

I now have about 500 miles on my 2022 Rize RX. I thoroughly enjoy it and would buy it again. Since I scoured the web for any info on the various models I was interested in before I settled on the Rize RX, I thought I’d put out my observations on the bike for others in the same boat I was in...

    Bafang Ultra Greasing Gears

I have a Rize RX (2022) with the Bafang Ultra, or M620 motor. I have read a variety of discussions on whether or not to add grease to the new motor. Any thoughts on this? Also, it appears the the gears may be accessed on the motor by just removing three screws; no need to pull the cranks. Is...
