Causes for spokes coming off? 2-week old Magnum Metro+

Jimmy, sorry to hear! I have a magnum Peak. 6 months. No issues. And both LBS (in CT) and mag HQ have been supportive on incidental stuff.

    Riding barefoot

Think I'll try this sometime. But the thought of touching gravel and dirt is not appealing. So would prob be on a quick ride that avoids this...

Ebike counting ... how many today?

FYI, as I posted the other day... "Just back from a vacation in East Hampton New York. Gorgeous as usual. And just such fun. Rode my ebike all over. But here's the thing: of the many many bikers I passed or came across, not one was on an ebike. Where the heck are they? And frankly, it's the...

Late-Life intro to bikes? (Fear of bikes...)

Mark (and everyone), you're saying some interesting things! And you are so right in assuming there is some complexity to this subject. It's funny, this is not a site about personal relationships, but clearly I could get into it big time in this discussion. We actually have a great long-term...

Late-Life intro to bikes? (Fear of bikes...)

In short, I love my ebike and ride alone all the time. But I have a healthy, reasonably coordinated 64 yr old wife that won't ride. Why? Fear I think. She grew up in NYC, and the only bike experiences she had were negative ones. She won't articulate them much, but I think it involves her...

Dave, no, not been back in quite a while. If I do get back up your way, it will probably involve Saratoga in August. I hear the region buzzes then, and even has some horse racing... :) (Yes, sarcasm). Love the area.

Hi David. Forgive the ignorance. I always seem to lose track of the seasons elsewhere. (As we leave summer and head into autumn here in the northeastern US). What is the season now in AU?

Dave, I might have told you... I grew up in Amsterdam (NY). Saratoga, Lake George, Albany, Schenectady... all in my blood. Been 45 yrs. But still there. When I hear of your travels, it brings back lots of memories. Great region, great people. Once in a while i get back up there...

When I was there about a month ago, though I did not do the whole trail, I was told that it's reopened.

Taz, FYI, I have family north of Burlington in the Champlain islands. I rode in South Hero and did a little piece of the train line from there. As you know, they cater two bikers there. Very cool. Spectacular scenery on the lake!

"Riders of ebikes AND regular bikes--I have some questions for you!"

Tim, I'm writing to concur with your post. And you mentioned something that is relevant to me. That is, I actually don't ebike for exercise. I'm 63, also lift, and my main cardio is playing basketball with a bunch of guys every week. The E bike, as you say, just puts a new spin on things...
