    Evo Display Flashes Repeatedly

Good to hear some normality has resumed, a little frustrating that youre none the wiser on the route cause. Perhaps worth just checking cable routes and connections just in case one has been disturbed.

Switching to carbon riser bars ?

Looks like the Tranz-X stems as an only be fitted one way with negative 7’ angle, cannot be reversed for a positive fit. That’s ruled that option out for me, shame as they were a third of the price of the redshift.

Redshift ShockStop seatpost and stem installed

From my research, and almost certain imminent purchase, the elastomers do seem to take a few rides to bed in and soften. For those with the 6’ stem I’d suggest you don’t jump straight to the softest elastomers, and give the medium range ones time to get run in

Switching to carbon riser bars ?

Thanks for those suggestions, more research to do but a stem swap is less involved than transferring all the controls from one bar to another. 👍

    Replacing stolen e-bike

IF you are reasonable handy with maintenance then could you look for a lightly used ebike local, good in the knowledge that if it needed a few bits sorting in the coming months you could easily deal with it ? Lectric XP could be an option but its a smaller bike overall than ones you linked to -...

Switching to carbon riser bars ?

Thanks for that likelemming , I actually watched that video amongst others earlier. It’s does quite a good job explaining the difference in lateral stiffness and the bump absorption/comfort aspects. It’s very clear that some of the more downhill / extreme MTB bars like the Renthal are very...

Switching to carbon riser bars ?

Thinking about switching the alloy bar on my Giant Fastroad E+ EX Pro for a carbon one - the current alloy one is 690mm width which i'm quite comfortable with for a touring/commuter bike. A bit extra rise might be an advantage, but the main reason is to see if a carbon bar will damper out some...

Why are the e-bike sold only with heavy inefficient fat tires?

Fat Bikes have their place.. they have a certain style the tyres can add some pliancy to the ride (esp on solid fork framed bikes built at a lower price point) they can be ridden with less drama on soft surfaces like sand they didnt really make it in analog form, they were OK for short trips...

Hi, A new South Walesian to the Forum!

Welcome Richarmed - glad there's another Welshman on here @reed scott - Oh there are plenty of hills in Wales - my town is surrounded by seven, so there are no easy leisure rides here outside risking the major vehicles road routes. Mountain biking has become a bit of a boom for Wales...

    Newbie from the UK

Brenda, the largest size I’ve seen are 16g, most of the retail shop ones seem to be 12g. loads on eBay, these just an example.. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121859323976

Slightly off topic Brenda but a CO2 inflator would help reinflation after tyre removal, faster inflation tends to pop the beads in quicker.

Trek Allant+7s or Gazelle Ultimate t10+

There's a LOT in that statement Alaskan, not something to be dismissed at all. Whilst i didnt buy from the LBS in my town, i do tend to pop in there for service items for other family bikes; just, to keep my face known and give them a little bit of trade - they will be handy come servicing...

    GIANT RideControl App 2.0

To be honest i've little experience - i got the bike at the start of October, downloaded the old app and discovered on first connect that the bike needed an update, i couldn't do anything with the old app bar bluetooth connect to the bike, no rides, no setting adjustments. I took the bike back...

Trek Allant+7s or Gazelle Ultimate t10+

Absolutely where possible - whilst i felt quite at home on the medium frame in the shop, actually riding, and steering, the bike might have been something else - i have wondered in hindsight how much room i'd have had on the front mudguard to my foot when turning

Trek Allant+7s or Gazelle Ultimate t10+

I almost bought the Allant+ 7 (UK spec has the Bontager adjustable stem included), but my local shop only had a M frame - at 220lbs and 6' tall i felt OK on the bike (at least sitting static - no test ride). I think the L might have just suited better (2 month supply time). I'm not sure even...

    GIANT RideControl App 2.0

AndyL - thats good to know. I could connect but do nothign else when i got my Fastroad a month ago, Giant store Bristol took the bike back in without appointment and had it all updated within 30 minutes, firmware and a couple of software updates. Connected fine to the old app, and now the new...

    GIANT RideControl App 2.0

I have a USB port on the side of my 2020 RideControl Evo display, not the biggest output but it's got to help. Failing that i managed to pick up a Phillips power bank for £3 yesterday, looks like a small plug in speaker on the lightning connector of the iphone - only 2500mAh but again it helps...
