Sorry, i wasnt clear. I meant the difference in the Class 1 specd between 15.5/14 you referenced (which is Euro limit) and 20/19.5. Is 20 pushing class 1?

So, in the USA, where we are getting 20mph nominal and 19 actual, is the bike underpowered?

I'll add that, except for the broken frame, they are the best bikes I rode, and I test rode a bunch. It's not about resale...it's about enjoying the ride and these are great bikes - or will be once they've taken care of the frame (again, guaranteed for life).

That's the difference between the 1.2 and the 1.2E? I haven't been able to find specs like that. All I can find is this: 3.0: MOTOR Specialized 1.2 E, custom Rx Street-tuned motor, 250W nominal 4.0: MOTOR Specialized 1.2, custom Rx Street-tuned motor, 250W nominal on the 2020 Vado page.

Congratulations. I hope they've solved the problem for 2020 bikes. That's the same color I chose for my Como 3.0. So far, so good. 400 miles on the new one so far.

So, you paid more to get a Como 3.0 frame, but all the components on it are 2.0. Aren’t the frames the same?

What years are these bikes (Como 3.0 in particular)?

I hope it all works out for you. If you bought it new, you get a lifetime warranty on the frame. Then they'd have to pay your LBD to build it back into a bike from there which, my guess is, becomes more expensive than a complete replacement. Please keep us posted.

While the notion of a new bike every year is enticing, I hope Specialized comes up with a way of preventing this in the future. In my case, I think every 500 miles or so, I’ll ask my LBS to make sure the mounting screws are tight. My guess is that it’s one coming loose and the motor torquing the...

I can talk to the Como 3.0 on steep hills with the same motor, and say “piece of cake”. The 48 tooth chainring makes a bit of a difference, making me work a tiny bit harder than the 2.0. But I can’t comparethe Vados, so hopefully someone will hop in.

Are both Class 3 bikes?

I’d make my case up front with your LBD as that is who will be making your case with Specialized. Mine went the distance to get me a Como 3.0 despite the fact that they had a Como 2.0 in stock, but they would have to install the TCD-W display.

I have my ECO set up for 35/55, SPORT set up for 60/80, and TURBO set up for 80/100.

I run my tires at 35 as well but have an extra 10 lbs on you. And I am 6'. M/L frame on bike. So, yeah, I think that's the magic number.
