    New Vado 5.0 family

Search for the AXA Imenso. Finally found the name of their lock that should fit the 650b x 2.3 wheels. If you’re set on that one then you’ll likely need to import. But at least a product that fits exists.

    New Vado 5.0 family

AXA hasn’t offered the service like Abus as far as I know. It would be nice if they did eventually.

    New Vado 5.0 family

I purchased Abus 5750L locks. They are the only I knew for sure would fit based on what for the old Como 5.0. The 4750X may also fit but I haven’t found any of those in stock. AXA also has a large wheel lock they were releasing but that may only be available in Europe. It’s not keyed alike...

    New Vado 5.0 family

This was exactly my plan. I'm going to try and see if I can get a warranty piece anyway because part of the issue was the installation was putting some tension on the eyelet. If not, it's probably not that expensive. But I'm handy enough to make a decent repair on the existing one. Just need to...

    New Vado 5.0 family

I didn’t have a black washer handy, but this is the eyelet that cracked. I need to get some 20 mm extenders on my pedals like on my analog bike. Shoe size is 13 4E (46 extra wide for the EU) so pedal comfort for big feet is always a struggle for me. This time it had some collateral damage. I’ll...

    New Vado 5.0 family

Got both home now and took our first family ride today to test them out. Nothing far because it’s still a bit chilly here. But it was a beautiful spring day! Only down side is I already need to repair/replace the chain/belt guard. The little plastic on the 3mm split when my pant bumped it...

Brought a new Vado 5.0 home today!

My LBS zip tied my bike and frame lock keys to the saddle rails specifically for this reason. It was funny. He watched me clip the zip ties in the store and said out loud, your responsibility now! I was about to load it on my rack, so fair enough because I didn’t want them dangling going down...

[RESOLVED] (refunded) New Vado 5.0 IGH in the shop, errors galore---updated 4-13-22

I had a feeling this would happen going into this (maybe not everyone did). But it’s also why it’s not recommended to get the first year of a new model year car. There are bugs. But it works itself out. Should it happen that way. No. But it has been this way for a while and I don’t see it...

[RESOLVED] (refunded) New Vado 5.0 IGH in the shop, errors galore---updated 4-13-22

Had a similar error show up on my Mastermind tonight when I brought mine home. Didn’t really happen unless I was pushing it hard to 20+ mph. Hitting + or - cleared it and things went back to normal. It happened a few times when I pushed hard. Removed the battery and waited a minute. Tried again...

Brought a new Vado 5.0 home today!

This is only half true Stefan. The pair of keys were supposed to come with it. But Specialized moved to AXA on the new bikes this year (at least the Vado and Como). One of the 2 keys has a sticker on it with your code. No Abus card (or AXA card for that matter).

New Vado 5.0 IGH in stock? My LBS's say go for it, they can't get 'em

Got my wife’s Vado 5 midstep last week. They just finished building mine today (mostly). The LBS needs to get some hardware from the store. Specialized forgot to pack mine with the fasteners to mount the radar to the rack. I ran some small metrics I had to check but they were too small. So...

Load 75, Rohloff vs Vario vs Touring model

The Rohloff is by far the better of the 2 IGH options for steep hills. It does have its own risk (can be a huge pain if they need serviced). I would expect the Vario to perform the same as the Urban Arrow.

    2022 Nevo 3 or Homage?

Being a large person myself (started biking at 305, now 235) I think the frames with more rigidity are better (something like the Charger). If you need low entry, they have Mixte frames which can help. I haven’t tried the full suspension bikes for R&M but on other brands I have struggled with...

Vado 5 IGH problems on steep hill

2 things I haven’t seen anyone say yet. 1.) the IGH is roughly 10% less efficient than a derailleur. So you will loose a little power there. 2.) the Vado 5 IGH controls the “gear” by pedal cadence. You are probably spinning much faster on a standard derailleur than on the belt. You midget...

2022 Vado IGH - No Thread?

@Gee_Whiz Go to 2:12. From Specialized’s own video you can adjust the radar settings in Mission Control. Not directly through the Mastermind. It shows it fast, not actual directions. So try poking around. But if no luck look up Mission Control app guides and you’ll probably have better luck...

New Vado 5.0 IGH in stock? My LBS's say go for it, they can't get 'em

Anyone here know what frame lock fits this frame yet? Looking at Abus’ specs, is there only the 4750x that fits the wider tire on this model?

New Vado 5.0 IGH in stock? My LBS's say go for it, they can't get 'em

So I canceled my wife’s preorder and ordered to our LBS from the website. Should have it next week. I waited to order hers first but by the time S came in stock L was sold out in Red. But it’s available on black and that sand color so hopefully soon? I still have my preorder for April if not...

New : Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH Belt Drive

These were announced the same time as the chain drive. It’s just the first time they have been on the website. I preordered mine the day they were announced at my LBS. One for me, one for the wife. They know me well enough there to order both without a deposit so I did. I should have mine a bit...

2019 Turbo Vado 4 - Broken Frame (Resolved)

Pretty sure they’re only making the 2022’s now anyway. Probably a decent chance for that.

Which ebike should I get for day-to-day use?

This. You can run over to Propel and they can set you up with a Vektron. Great bike if you want to take it inside with you. Folds up and you can use the seat as a handle to cart it with you.
