    Front Hub and Bearing Problem

I agree. BTW - The damage to the cone nut may have been ultimately caused by heat but the root cause was lack of a quality bearing grease and/or loose cone nuts allowing too much play in the bearings. These classic bearing/hub setups are quite reliable but do require some periodic maintenance...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I ride a Vado 5 that has the same motor, battery, and gearing as the Como 5 so range and hill climbing ability will be comparable. I live and ride in a very hilly little town and get ~36 miles to a charge using ~16WHr/mile. My wife rides slower, weighs less and gets more mileage; into the low...

That seems to be GM's opinion as well; fuel cells for heavy duty uses, batteries for everything else. Works for me!

How to Prevent Flat Tires on Electric Bikes

...and flats still happen with tubeless setups. My sons run tubeless on their MTBs, but still carry flat kits that include spare tubes, a tire boot and a CO2 inflator 'cause stuff happens on the trail and it's a long walk back. They tell me it takes longer to install the new tube since all the...

Anyone figured out a chain ring protection option for pant cuffs?

28°F a few mornings ago here in Nor Cal, too cool for me to wear shorts! 😎 I wear long pants on all my rides this time of year, often over a thermal base layer, etc. I use velcro ankle straps that have worked well for years to protect my pants legs, though I am careful to fold my pants out...

The ultimate pedal and shoes discussion

The pedals tighten in the direction of normal forward rotation so no over tightening is needed. I use a commercial antiz-sieze paste on their threads to protect against the elements. Never an issue.
