Have patience. Dab the rag, hold it in place without rubbing it. The alcohol will evaporate. So it does not stay wet long. When the decals start to melt, then start to rub gently with some more alcohol. One letter at a time was what I was able to do. Good luck.

You can. I did it on two of my more recent tubes before putting them on the tire. If you want to fill your current tubes, you have to take the tubes out of the wheel. You take a pair of needlenose or other small pliers and untwist the knurled knob. It takes a little effort, but it will come...

I have the same tires. I use 2 levers with the tire standing up right. Not laying flat. For some reason, working the bead with it laying flat is near impossible. Standing up is a piece of cake.
