Is There a Yamaha eBike Comparison Chart Anywhere?

It would be better if you bought it from your local bike shop because (at least in my experience) they are a lot nicer/more accommodating with my requests when I purchase it from them directly (and they don’t charge me for many low cost adjustments/corrections) the first 6 months of ownership...

Giant AUTO Mode: A No Go

The Yamaha YDX-Moro Pro has a very effective auto mode AND it also has zero cadence support so the motor helps you the second you put any pressure on the pedal with zero lag.

    That is great!

    Announced: Yamaha Civante - 28mph

On my 500w battery with 70nm of torque. I used 90% of my battery. This 42-mile ride was almost 3 hours with an elevation gain of 3,800ft. I used the 2 highest settings (1.5 hrs on the highest and 1.5 hrs on the 2nd highest). This is just an example of one ride and the battery range a 500w...

    Announced: Yamaha Civante - 28mph

I looked up their motor, and i did find one site that said Fazua now does make a class 3 bike. So maybe only some of the 2021 motors are a class 3.

    Announced: Yamaha Civante - 28mph

Yeah, that’s more of a city/touring bike. The more you go away from being a road bike, the cheaper bikes get. It also depends how how many miles you want to ride bc the battery is only 375w. Which will prob get you 35 miles using the highest settings (and if you’re under 190lb and in decent...

    Announced: Yamaha Civante - 28mph

That’s a great deal! I think it only offers a 250w battery and 55nm of torque without a double chainring. So, It won’t offer a lot of support on steep hills and the battery won’t last long going a steady 25+ mph. But, if you’re a fit cyclist and just need “some” assistance going uphills or going...

    Announced: Yamaha Civante - 28mph

The $3,400 price saves us plenty of money to buy add-ons. The next least expensive class 3 road bike (with at least a Tiagra group set) with a minimum of 70nm of torque and a 500w battery is the Giant E+Pro (with Ultegra) at $4,700

Why aren't there quick chargers for ebike?

Do you know if Specialized uses Samsung, LG, Sony, or Panasonic lithium ion batteries? Sony/Murata has a better discharge rate (11.8 milliomps) than Samsung (12 milliomps). LG has a discharge rate of 12.3. They’re all better than the 21.9 milliomps of Panasonic/Sanyo’s NCR1850GA. Since you have...

    Electric bike battery care

I think you are right. I didn’t heard of calendar aging when I bought the 2nd battery. But, I do have some 50+ mile rides (now once every 6 weeks), so I will benefit from the 2nd battery. Thank you for your thoughts.

Why aren't there quick chargers for ebike?

I saw a video that said the new batteries from Panasonic use lithium cobalt manganese cells. The cells have their own temperature gauges, which allows Giant to provide 6a chargers to the bikes that use Panasonics new batteries. Giant says ”this specific type of battery has the lowest discharge...

Why aren't there quick chargers for ebike?

Giant uses a 6v charger which charges their 625w battery from 0-80% in 2.2 hours. Is there a reason why other battery manufacturers don’t use a 6v charger (Which stops at 80% to prevent stressing the cells, of course).

    yamaha battery 500wh range

I have similar results. I get 47 miles going an average of 15mph for 4 hours with an elevation gain of 3,800 feet. I start on Standard for 2 hours and then use High for the last 2 hours.

Why aren't there quick chargers for ebike?

You are correct. This battery is like a clock. I checked the %charge every 10min starting at 5%. Like clock work, it charged in 5% increments every 10min. It took me 2hrs 50min to charge 5%- 90%. The charging rate only slowed down the last 90-100% (It took 60min to charge the last 10%). So, to...

I bought it at the bike shop at the same time I bought my Civante for $850 + tax in Irvine, CA.

Yamaha battery not reaching expected range?

Thanks Stefan. Yamahonian, are you still just getting 28 miles out of your battery?

Yamaha battery not reaching expected range?

T that doesn’t sound right. I can go 57 miles on a 500wh battery always using the 2 highest settings for 3.5 hours with an elevation gain of 3,000 feet. Starting at 90% (I don’t charge above 90%) and going down to 30% gets me 42 miles. The next 25% gets me 15 miles = 57 miles total. I’ve never...
