My 2nd ebike.. this time with killer motor

I had thought so to from what I had read but this company claims to have the answer? https://forums.electricbikereview.com/threads/k1-flash-set-bafang-can-motor-parameters-speed-limit-circumference-power-adjustments-simple-firmware-flash-and-calibration.53163/

The is only one size. Just google 16 notch bb tool. The socket type works best and a cheap one will do the trick.

Hydra gen 2 vs Frey Beast

The way I see it anymore bikes are just frames made in China with components made in China and it depends on after sale support as to how good an experience you have? If you are able to perform basic maintainence and upkeep you can keep about any bicycle going for quite awhile. Over the years I...

Hydra gen 2 vs Frey Beast

No I have the Z1 version for a few years now but if I was looking today I would go with the X2 probably. They also have their Ludicrous version which amps up the power that for sure would help top end speed I suppose? With the right gearing you could probably get it to go that fast as Luna's...

My 2nd ebike.. this time with killer motor

"It seems the motor needs grease after a short time and it's a real PITA to take it out of the bike , open it up and grease it. Youtube is my friend here" It is not a matter of luck it is the absence of a suitable grease and amount of even that from the factory. Well worth it to do the job...

Hydra gen 2 vs Frey Beast

The Luna X2 with 29" wheels in stock form is what I think the best deal is personally. The M600 motor will give you plenty of power over what is readily available in your country without going to excess. All the components are servicable enough but not the most expensive top end stuff. One thing...

    Olympic cycling 2024

Track racing has been around as long or longer than any other form of bicycle racing. Check out Major Taylor for a good read. It has evolved over the years certainly but the bikes themselves are basically the same, stripped down versions of what we consider to be bikes today. Sure they are made...

    Olympic cycling 2024

It was Chloe Dygart, the other US gal, that suffered a crash that ultimately led to Kristen taking off from the bunch in the confusion but still had to get to the two leaders at the time with the world champ on her wheel. Road bike racing is more tactical than just hammering on the pedals and...

    Olympic cycling 2024

No love for Kristen Faulkner that won the women's road race? A really stellar effort and gold medal result and now she is riding on the women's pursuit team and looking like another medal might be in her future. Edit: Just saw they won the Gold! I have spent a good amount of time in AK over the...

Hydra gen 2 vs Frey Beast

The cranks freewheel while under throttle on a mid drive but you can still effectively pedal. Top speed of a Bafang M620 bike is limited to the final gear ratio as well as rider weight and terrain/wind. Mine with a 48/11 tops out around 26mph on level ground on throttle alone and a bit faster...

Outfitting a drop-bar ebike for recreational use

My favorite recreational gravel bike is a flat bar 150/160mm FS bike with a Bafang M620 unrestricted these days. After years of riding rigid drop bar bikes the old body likes a bit of comfort and the old moto guy in me likes some speed. The gravel around me are logging roads, and plentiful...

I'm replacing an ENVIOLO hub and need the ENVIOLO disk brake adapter tool.

That is crazy $$ for that tool! I had to look up what it does to justify that type of money and all it is are some pins, that are represented as dimples in the above pic, that fit into a lock ring that holds the disc brake adapter in place...

    Bafang BBS-02/HD vs M600 vs M620 (Ultra)

The 14oz cartridge provides several lifetimes of supply....I have thought a few times of offering to send along the amount needed from my leftover but it would be more hassle and expense than just ordering it from BTI, which is cheaper than Amazon btw. Here is the link for future reference...

    BIKTRIX Bikes and Bafang motors

It's pretty well documented on this forum as well as other places on the web that stock from the factory M620 motors are noisy. How I dealt with my friends and mine was getting rid of the pitiful factory amount and replacing it with John Deere Cornhead grease that I saw suggested somewhere...

People for Bikes: Progress on Ebike Laws in the US

What is Class 3+? I have never seen any actual federal or state regulations regarding it? The SurRons (sic) in reality has nothing to do with eBikes other than they are lumped into our category as they have no pedals which makes them eMoto's by regulation or at best a MoPed, although once more...

Bafang M620 quit gearset installed. Need help calibrating the Canbus motor.

OK so it seems like the same people are just talking here so I have nothing other to add to the conversation than for existing and future M620 owners seeking a quieter existence how happy I am with the motors I have re-greased and there is no need for the expense and calibration hassle that I...

    Bafang M620 Quiet Gears

It's not just any grease that will do it IMNSHO. The JD grease just happens to really work well and is way cheaper than the hoops that you went through...

Bafang M620 quit gearset installed. Need help calibrating the Canbus motor.

Why would the calibration be necessary if you just swapped out the gears? If you swap out the controller on an M620 then you need to calibrate it? Too bad you just didn't apply John Deere Cornhead grease instead as it does an excellent job of quieting down the M620 for way less money.......
